I've been doing portrait and event photography lately. I don't have any photos here at work, but I've done some for Mary Greeley at the Sukup Endzone Club, and will next week at the Alumni Center. It's a lot of fun to get to see those places behind-the-scenes.

I photographed a birth a couple of weeks ago, which was insane. Yesterday I photographed an elopement ceremony. Here are just a couple from that that don't show the couple too much to invade their privacy.

If you make it out to the fair this year, take a look around, you may see a name you recognize in the photography salon. 3 of my image were accepted, with one winning an award.

A lot of good stuff out there so take a look, as I'm sure we all do.

Iowa outdoors is doing a show on outdoor photography tomorrow nite (8-12) (IPTV) at 8:30 if I remember the time right.

I'm not a sports photographer at all, but I got to do some event photography for a volleyball event that two local employers had to raise money for United Way. None of these are ground-breaking shots, but they were better than I expected them to be for not having the right gear or experience.

Thread bump!

Been pretty much disappointed everytime I try and photograph birds with the Nikon and "real" lense. Then yesterday I stumble into a fairly decent picture while out walking 1/2 mile from my house. Great egret with the S7 Galaxy cell camera.

VERY contemporary and all in cool tone gray and stainless steel etc. Have the stainless frame for a 8x10 to hang in the bath. Need to pick one of the photos for it. See below. Stuck with cool tone colors or b&W because of the room and the frame. Kinda leaning towards the heron or the wall pic.

Ooh, if it's super-contemporary, I'd say the two bottom photos are the most austere-feeling. I like them all a lot, but those would be my choices.

Personal choice would be the dog because it looks like a Boston Terrier which is what my fur baby is

But for contemporary I'd go with bottom left. If you have room for more than just the one frame you could do a mini gallery wall with the other pictures too.
