I recognize three. What is cwm?So, how do you feel about words with no vowels, like brr, shh, nth, cwm?
Depends on who is playing...How about ****, ****, ***** and the like?
Funny story from a Scrabble game in our past:I don't think of any of them as real words except for cwm. If it only exists as an interjection, I doubt if it is really a word. $#!+ can be an interjection but it is useful in so many other ways - it can be a noun or a verb and has forms that can be adverbs and adjectives.
I once got in a fight with an old girlfriend because she said that, "Donut is not a word, it is spelled doughnut." She worked at a doughnut place. I argued that donut is a variant. If you play Scrabble much just get a Scrabble dictionary and avoid the fights.
Can I steal just a smidge of vixen's thunder, @SCyclone ?
I gots a job. (Hence the vague celebratory like posts on Thursday)
Start date TBD, but I'll be the accounting coordinator at the HyFive at Mills Civic & I-35 in WDM.
I'm in this weird, giddy, nervous mood.

Yep, Wisconsin scored with about a minute left to go up 4. They then got a pick the next series (similar to the game-ending pick Iowa State had against Iowa a few years ago) and then Iowa started using time outs to stop the clock. Wisconsin gave it to the fullback on third down and they scored. And yeah, even though final score was 28-17 it was a lot closer than that. Here's actually a youtube video of the game in under 40 minutes, and I've set it to right before Wisconsin scores.I did not get to see the end of the game - I confess I had fallen asleep. But I would agree, it was a very interesting game....as a Sconnie native, I have to confess I do root for Bucky. (Especially when hoks are involved.)
The media made it sound as if the Badgers scored at the very end to win, but they added another TD on a running play. Apparently Iowa had to go for it on 4th down in their own territory and failed, and then the Badgers had a rushing TD to make the score more lopsided than it should have been.
Don't get me wrong - I respect CKF and what he has done with their program - but it's always fun to see those arrogant tavern hoks get taken down every so often.
That's amazing Sara, congrats!Can I steal just a smidge of vixen's thunder, @SCyclone ?

So this may be too personal of a question (and if it is, I'm sorry and do not feel like you need to answer), but aren't you breast-feeding him? Does human milk not have lactose in it (with the exception of the dairy the mother has consumed)? Otherwise, how do you feed a baby that is lactose intolerant?I did.
He cried for a couple minutes. Think I was still sniffly at five. Probably mostly because my doctor was like sure, try reducing/cutting out dairy and caffeine and I'm like but you don't understand. I'm a bit frustrated because I think she was rushed and said something about it helping with his spitting up but that's not an issue for him. It's sleeping poorly after his first wakeup at night (seemingly due to gas) and waking up crying pretty strongly until he moves things along. I don't know, maybe that's normal?
. I greatly reduced dairy over the past week and we had one good night and the rest not. But it can take weeks for the protein to leave your system and the baby's so I don't even know. He doesn't have the common symptoms of an intolerance so I suspect it's just an immature digestive system. I think caffeine is gone faster and I've cut that.
And I work the rest of the week (from home, thank God but in online meetings the entire time) so between his shots + poor sleep + can't eat anything I like or have caffeine to stay awake..............this is fun. So much fun.
I made spaghetti meatless meatballs and I tried putting the sauce on afterward and you guys are ******* monsters.
Funny story from a Scrabble game in our past:
I used the word "moxie", and Lew had never heard it before, so he challenged it. We looked it up in his Funk & Wagnall's (pre-internet). Damn word wasn't IN there!!! So, I lost my points and he got the bonus for the challenge. His very next word was "nite". Since it was an older dictionary (1960's or so) I challenged him, thinking the variant wouldn't be in that edition. Nope. @!(*%Y*_)(*#Y* word was right there, front & center! More lost points, lost turn, bonus points to him. It was the first time he ever beat me at Scrabble...and now, every time we hear "moxie" used on TV or in a movie, he reminds me of the fact that it "isn't really a word".![]()

Dude in front of me at VB match didn’t get memo that Brute was to no longer be worn after roughly 1990. I’m feeling ill from it.

Then I would strongly recommend having a stay-at-home wife, or no children.I walked all the way to class today only to realize it was cancelled because of the career fair. The problem is, I didn't go on Thursday because I thought that was the day it was cancelled. I should probably figure out what I missed. I might be related to @snowcraig2.0...

A cwm is a mountaineering term (or at least that is where I learned it) for a cirque, or a mountain basin. I think it might be Welsh, which would make sense, with their penchant for consonants.I recognize three. What is cwm?
As for using them...are they in a printed dictionary (not an on-line version), and are they listed as words or abbreviations? If Merriam-Webster or something similar considers them words, I would agree to them.
I would never have thought of them on my own, though.I tend to use larger words because it's easier to build off them. I use 2-3 letter words to "store" letters. If I can get a quick run of peels going, it can really mess with an opponent.
Side note: I've learned to read my opponents - if I piss them off too much, they won't play any more (like your work friends) so there are times when I deliberately pace myself.![]()
