There were grinds in the cups in Scotland too and it didn't bother me but I didn't know what they used and if it'd be way worse

I mean, usually it’s just a pinch for me, but if you’re that worried about it, most grocery stores have a machine where you can grind your own beans and choose a courser grind.

Also, my French press is nothing special. I think it was like $20 at Kohls. Not a top end one at all. It doesn’t make a ton of coffee, but it usually gets me two or three cups.

Yeah I liked that it was fairly cheap and simple in case we don't use it.i think I'll give it a try.

I must be getting old. Instead of going out to the bars on a Saturday night like a normal college student, I stayed home and grilled a pork roast (which turned out fabulous by the way, thank you very much) and cleaned the house. Now I'm ready to settle in with a beer and watch a movie. This is the life.

Becoming an adult is realizing that, while going to the bar and getting crazy is still fun, it’s most enjoyed in small doses.

I'll go to the bar every once in a while and play along just so people don't think I'm a total stick in the mud, but getting crazy's not my forté. I'm pretty old fashioned in that respect; I didn't drink until I was 21 and I've never been drunk and I don't plan to be. I've never understood the appeal of it. To each his own I guess.

Still random, but earlier today I was showing my kids how Mangino flossed his buttocks with a towell to wipe. Pretty funny. Still sort of surreal that he got our money. Wow. performance based contracts please.

Used to love my Keurig, I am the only regular coffee drinker and could make what I needed. It also worked great to use for hot water to warm bottles quickly. But I think we went through like three of them because they do not last long. Next I went to French press (just a simple one from Target). Bought a coffee grinder and ground my own coffee a little coarser. Worked well, but often I would steep and then get distracted. Once hubby started working from home we needed something where he could have his one cup of coffee in the mornings, too. We got a Ninja coffee bar on Black Friday last year. It works well for us. You can make a cup, a travel mug, a half carafe or full carafe at a time. Our carafe is insulated so the coffee stays hot for awhile (there is no warmer under the carafe). I still grind my own coffee.

Caribou Obsidian fan. Dark roast with none of the “French Roast” burned bean flavor. Less acidic and less bitter too.

Todays earworm. Pretty sure I am going mad.

She's a witch of trouble in electric blue,
In her own mad mind she's in love with you.
With you.
Now what you gonna do?
Strange brew, kill what's inside of you.

Maybe some yard chores and mower noise will help. o_O

My old boss got me the old version of this because he knew I was the only one at my abode who drank coffee. The travel mugs that came with it are long gone but the maker is still going strong about 15 years later.

I have a keurig that holds enough water for 3 days. I make 14 ounces each morning. I have had it for many years. I do avoid running soft water through it though. That seemed to eat up my last one. This has a descaling mode in it that will run every once in awhile to help out also.

No secret I hate coffee. So does PapaLew. So when my sisters in cooperation with PapaLew decided to surprise me for my 50th birthday, they brought me a very self-serving birthday gift: a four-cup coffee pot and several bags of designer coffee for them to use while they stayed with us! 13.5 years later, it's still in great shape because it so very rarely gets used. ;)
