What do you coffee makers make coffee in? I always got the free stuff from work but i dont plan to drive in there for the next month plus so...plus it's pretty blah stuff. We found in Scotland we liked French press style but it sounds like you need special beans and a grinder blah blah. Idk, i don't need world class but good would be nice. Keurig stuff is ok but kinda bleh. Is wanting both easy and tasty too much?
Drip coffee is easy and decent. It's all about the freshness of the bean and the purity of the water.
Just buy a decent coffee you like and figure how much coffee you need to dump in for your taste and you're good for home brew. I like mellower coffee brewed a little dark so the main store brand McGarvey's at Lunds works good for me in my old Krug dripper. Some of the darker blends are too bitter since i drink mine raw with sugar and creamy stuffs. I switch up between their Columbian and the Kona. Any decent drip brewer will do as long as it gets hot enough.
I like my french press but it's a pain to clean out the grounds. Water temperature is also important. Boiling water will burn the beans. It should be closer to about 200
I'm one of those weird people who doesn't drink coffee, but my dad has been using a Chemex for as long as I can remember. It's basically a drip coffee maker, but a little more manual (you heat your own water as opposed to the machine doing it).
yeah the little bit of extra work has me hedging on a french press because I imagine it will be easy to become distracted early in the mornings
I have a French press and just use regular ground coffee?
I just used Folgers instant coffee for camping and vacation recently and it was fine. Pretty cheap too.
I'm not a coffee buff but seemed fine to me.
Better than going to Starbucks. The process for ordering a coffee should just be
1) Order the coffee.
2) Worker pours the coffee.
3) Patron receives coffee, pays for it, whole process takes 30 seconds.
4) Coffee doesn't cost $5.
Haha, not for coffee apparently. It's just house blend...I add cinnamon to give it a bit more.
Online makes it sound like you need a coarse grind or it gets in the cup? And doesn't taste as good? Idk. Do you have to boil water first too? Which one do you have? I was close to going this route so I'm curious
At mile 20 or so of a bike ride today the theme song of the old TV show Sugarfoot earwormed it's way into my head. This cannot be a good sign.

I put the coffee in the press, boil water, pour it in and let it brew for a minute or two, then slowly press down. I use a fine blend, so I get a tiny amount of grounds in my cup, but it’s not like I drink them. They just sit at the bottom of the cup. No different than tea leaves in a cup. I’ve never had a problem with it and I’ve had my press for about a year.
There were grinds in the cups in Scotland too and it didn't bother me but I didn't know what they used and if it'd be way worse
