Parents earlier this month went on a guided tour of Canada. My dad said an "Iowa State basketball player" sat across from them on their flight from Chicago to Toronto. I'm trying to suss out who it might be. Naz and Melvin would probably have been in Ames or on their way there for the alumni get-together. Dad said he was probably a couple of inches taller than himself. (So 6'4" or 6'5"), but had longer hair. So more Marial's height, but Lindell's hair. He also said that he slept pretty much the whole flight with his hood up.

I really want to figure this out.

I think Naz was already in town at that point because he did the camp with Niang and Fennely.

I got in a mini argument with a friend over helping out homeless guys outside our closest 7/11. I'll take any **** you guys give me but I refuse to give "just" money. My friend is the exact opposite.

Today we were walking past the 7/11 to our apartment complex and one homeless woman asked us for money, he stopped and gave her some but me being all electronic dude I am, didn't have any cash. Another guy asked us for a Coca-Cola as we were walking into the 7/11. I said "you got it" and got him a damn Coke with the rest of my stuff.

Then my friend got real mad at me because I would give someone a Coke instead of money. Regardless of the fact that I didn't have cash on me, they made me feel like I was some sort of uppity guy.

Personally if any homeless person asks for a specific item that's under a few bucks outside the store I am walking into, I'll buy it for them 90+% of the time. If you ask me for just money? It's less than 10% and it's mostly because I don't carry cash. But if a guy wants a $1.50 Coke? **** yea I'll buy it for him! I've even made chili dogs for some guys outside that 7/11 because they asked for it.

This is a longer rant than I wanted but it pisses me off that people will give money willy nilly but refuse to give an actual item that they're requesting an look down upon people that do so.

End Rant

If they specifically as for something small like that I’ll do it. But I might be a bad example because the only time I carry cash is if I’m traveling.

Lindell wears his hood up a lot, seems like...

The only time I am carrying cash is if I am traveling in a foreign country or I just left a casino. A random Wednesday night in Dallas? No chance

Not exactly sure.
Was thirsty and had nothing to drink. Daughter gave me a drink of her sprite or Sierra Mist. I am officially done with pop. The one pop in 6 months has made pop taste nasty to me.

OK, so the vixen came through with flying colors. But now that she sees better, I'm thinking my days as her paramour are numbered.

Anyway, she was very tired when we got home. Had to wake her at suppertime to put drops in and she was pretty grumbly. (New word alert) Also, her right eye is so dilated you can hardly see any of the iris, while her left eye is normal. I told her it looks like she has two different color eyes, almost.

But she slept most of the evening and through the night, and plans on working tomorrow. She's a trooper, and I love her. :p

I try to have some cash mad money on me but pretty much use a card for everything.
I feel naked if I don't have any cash. Some regular cash and some mad money as well. In my case mad money is if I suddenly go mad and start buying people drinks. I've never understood the concept of people buying the bar a round. It's different in a group of friends but not a bunch of random people. I won't use a card in a bar. Always spend twice as much.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

@GTO and @cyclones500 and @Cyclones_R_GR8 , have any of you seen a movie called "Eden Lake"? From 2008, about a young couple terrorized in a wooded area by a group of young punks. Watched it last night, very well done but unrelentingly grim. Kelly Reilly and Michael Fassbender star.
Never saw it. I still live in the 20th century and don't have Netflix.

So I post a message to local alumni asking for suggestions for a happy hour or social gathering for alumni. Stated to keep in mind that not everyone shares the beer only brewpub craze. Some people don't drink and others like wine or other options or might be interested in a place with actual food. So, pretty much every suggestion back is from guys touting their favorite brewpub. o_O

"Mmmm, I am loving this 15% ABV Bavarian Stormmeister Acorn and Bacon Infused Stout. Hey, how come none of the alumni gals come to these?"
I saw that the very first post was for a tap room. I would suggest Psycho Suzi's. It's a blast and has a huge deck. D-E-C-K, I said.

If you feel having craft beer is important but still want the full drink menu, I'd recommend Dayblock Brewing near the Guthrie. It's only a couple of blocks from my office so I may even be able to make it. Also, Freehouse in the North Loop is pretty good and it seems like there are a bunch of ISU alumni living in that area.

Passed an area HS XC team on the way to work and got to thinking. Is that the easiest sport to coach?
