Gf and I speak English and we have a hard time understanding each other. Speaking different languages seems like a win to me
Yeah that's it. I just don't know how you can even think of marrying someone if you can't even speak to them. This guy is talking to the womans dad and trying to get his phone to translate what the dad says and then tries to stumble through reading what he wants to say off his phone. I've worked with people who struggled with English and it was difficult, but it wasn't someone that I was living with and joining my life with. I could handle work because usually someone could translate and we could work it out. Can't have a third person living with you to translate every conversation.
Depends on the level I suppose, but I probably wouldn’t get my hopes up. Definitely worth following up if it’s a job you really would have liked. Sometimes **** happens in between, like someone taking a vacation or getting sick or something.
So I was called by my apartment complex right now. My apartment has these walkways for each floor and I am on the bottom floor. The second floor walkway collapsed today (and basically in front of my front door) for some reason and they called to ask if they can shut off my power for a couple days.... All my fridge food is ****** lol. Hopefully it's not too bad.
I would ask super to throw it out. **** will smell badddd

This Maine school has one adjunct who teaches from home in Florida.
For just a night, I'm going to pretend that could happen with this lecturer thing.

@ISUCyclones2015 Absolutely this. With how hot it's been in Texas...I'd ask. Not sure how much longer your trip is...even if it's only two more days, I'd ask them to do this.
Maybe ask him to water his plants also.
.....and I'm back from the wilds of far northeastern Wisconsin. And holy jeebus, did I miss a lot!

Lemon chiffon (if you've never had it, you have to try it)
Banana cream
Key lime
We heard about the tornadoes, we were driving up on Thursday afternoon/evening. Sounds like the damage in M'town and Pella was pretty awful.
We lost a real rebel and hellacious writer in Donald Kaul. Still chuckle about his "last time we can vote against Nixon" line.
@CycloneErik, sorry about the swing and a miss. They will never know what a great candidate they shunned.
And all the other stuff - sisters in hot tubs, @cowgirl836 and the (not here yet?) baby, @BCClone getting his life savings drained by family, etc.
Final comment - yes, sharp cheddar cheese with apple pie is awesome. My dad used to do that, I always thought he was a sick puppy until I tried it.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!!! I sure did!!! Got to see both my brother and sister, plus my aunt and cousin from Texas that I had not seen in 27 years. We had a blast!!
