Where did they originate? I mean, they didn't evolve there. Were they connected to the indigenous people from South & Central America (Aztec, Mayan, Inca) or from Florida/Texas?

I don't know. I've never looked that far. I've only dealt with a little bit of Caribbean history, and that was mostly to look at slavery.

That's what specialists in Caribbean or Native American history would know.

But...but...but...you're my go-to source for all things history!!!

Exactly where I was going and exactly what I immediately thought when I saw sugar plantations going away in Hawai'i. They even import the ethanol for their 10% ethanol that was mandated up until a few years ago. They could make 10-15% of their fuel home grown and even start getting more people to be using E-85. With gas prices over $4 the margins between ethanol and gasoline could make E-85 pricing very attractive.

Meh, not the answer. The future is electric cars on the islands powered by baby pineapple batteries and recharged via solar panels. FTW.

My secretary from back in the day had her thyroid nuked. They came in with a metal container and tongs and just put the pill in her hand to take and she was all wtf but then she did have to swallow it too.

Ex-boss and wife got stopped and questioned at the border coming back from Canada a few years ago. His wife had just completed some thyroid radiation treatment. The radiation portal detectors at the border station were sensitive enough to detect it. They were allowed to pass after they found they were not carrying a nuclear device into the country to blow up the Twin Cities.

Thanks! I was honestly curious about it. :)

No problem. I think the things that come up like that are fun.
One good students asked about the British national debt prior to the Revolution, because all of us as historians are used to mentioning it, but almost none of us specialize in it enough to know who they owed.

Turned out that it was a combination of the Bank of England and Dutch banks. One good student and I went and learned that one after a good question. We shared that one with the class, because it seemed important and encouraging to people to ask questions.
It's really kind of the whole point, anyway.

Sounds like you've read a lot of the same books I've read. The Obesity Code, etc.

I've discovered that my best option for weight loss is intermittent fasts with periodic extended fasts. I've dropped 30 pounds in the past four months doing that. I'm sure you remember how big I was a couple of years ago from the Alumni dinner. I'm much (45 pounds) slimmer now. :)
I’ve dropped similar weight before but I didn’t eat well which made me not look as lean as I want to. Eating protein and less bad carbs will help you later when it’s harder to drop weight.

Just got another e-mail about that Supply Chain Management graduate certificate.
Says they just extended the application deadline JUST FOR ME. Sounds legit.
I didn’t get the 2nd one from vikes so maybe it’s for you or he dropped me from the list.
