raining again here today too.

Working from home today and I get an email that they're doing an ice cream social at work this afternoon. That's not fair. Then I see it's for a terrible brand of ice cream. Ok, carry on.

Bet the parking lot is empty today and that's why they decided to have it. Kinda like having the pizza lunch the Friday before Memorial Day.

Tomorrow is my wedding anniversary. I am making Kung Pao chicken for dinner, afterward there will be dancing. I have bought her some nice jewelry, plus scheduled a ride on the dinner train on the Boone Valley Scenic Railway in October. Hope she's pleased!

Happy Anniversary, I'm sure she will enjoy.

Rookie move on their part. How are they going to crush your confidence when you apply if they have already preemptively used their go-to move?

There's always, always the traditional blow-off without responding to me.
That's the most used and more effective move. The other one gives it away and lets me move on more easily.

*smacks hands together*. "Showed that guy."

Hitting the road in the morning with DD to drive to Greeley, CO for softball. It's our first time going to Colorado. Going I-80 all the way. We had both agreed initially that we would stop in Council Bluffs to spend the night, and finish the drive Sunday. (Neither of us wants to spend more time than necessary in kNebraska.)

We've both relented though, and we're going to drive as far as we can Saturday before stopping, even if that means we spend the night in kNebraska. Ugh.

So-- big question. Are there any restaurants along I-80 that would make that town a good place to stop? She's going to check Food Network today for the types of places that make it on to their shows like DDD.

I don't remember anything on the mind numbing trip through Nebraska, but you will be close to one of my favorite places in the country. I love Estes Park CO, It is a beautiful area even though it is a tourist trap. All I remember about Greeley is going to the Greeley Stampede Rodeo the largest 4th of July Rodeo in the country.

Whatever you do, do NOT stop in Fort Morgan, Co. If you do wear a gas mask.

If you think driving through Nebraska is mind numbing then you have never driven across Kansas or North Dakota.

Ate breakfast someplace in Grand Island that wasn't bad, unfortunately don't remember the name. Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express there once also and they had good drinks and food was worth it.

Also Hari, you are killing my juvenile mind with all the D's. I always pause with the double D's and have to slowly tell myself what it means again.

Been through both and yes Kansas is a drag. North Dakota isn't quite as bad, still I'd travel through either of those happily before I'd go through Nebraska.

Haha, yes, I need to remember DD doesn't mean "darling daughter" to everyone here!

We're getting a new PO processing portal. The training is so ugh. We're gaining search ability, at the cost of changing submission procedure for vendors. Nightmare

Having driven to Colorado last summer, I can't make any food recommendations but will state that the Comfort Inn and Suites in Gothenberg is a pretty nice little hotel. The Comfort Inn and Suites in North Platte is not.
