House Hunters in Honolulu. He is a musician, she's a general manager of a restaurant. Budget of...

$900,000
All of the people on those house shows have these incredible budgets. I just don't understand how. When I was with mom one time some 20 something couple was looking for a remote log home on a Colorado mountain. He worked construction and she was going to stay home and their budget was something like $450,000. I told mom his dad must own the construction company.

Wendy Peffercorn there, Squints.

My oldest is getting quite a lot of business this summer dog sitting. It is all within the neighborhood so she can walk or bike there. I told her it was actually a good gig because she usually gets paid in cash. When she does have her first job with taxes and SS, it will be an eye opener.

I had shingles when I was in middle school. It was not fun. My FIL has them this winter even with having the shingles vax.

The ILs are coming today to try and see the girls play softball. Looks like the entire drive across MN will be in the rain. Hoping we actually get softball games in today, past two nights have been cancelled. The other day one of the girls asked which uniforms the team was wearing the next day. Coach texts back a picture of full scuba gear.

Shingles in middle school?! That's just awful.

When I had shingles the best I could figure out is once you have them you have about a 1% chance of getting them a second time and what the vaccine does is drop you down to that 1% as if you had them once.

Assistance needed: from you bigger city folks. Wife is taking kids to convention/mission trip next week for church. In Houston.

I said most food trucks take debit/credit cards. Is this correct?

New pair of shoes in our bedroom last night. Thought they were my sons that he just bought. Looked at size and about his size. Ask when son and wife are both by me if they were sons shoes. Wife snips at me that they were hers. I asked her if she wore size 10, she said no why do I ask. Informed her that that was the size of the shoes.

Then she was upset at me because the place she bought them at didn’t check the size in the box. Am I the only one who double checks? And why is it my fault for her getting the wrong size. Actually I know the answer to the last one, only curious on the first.

They cancelled games up in Clarion(?) because the fields were under water 2 days ago. Hope your inlaws get to see them play.

Anyone that goes out and plays in the rivers at these levels deserve it if they get Darwinned, if you get in trouble you should be on your own. In reality I'm ok with people being rescued, but damn people use some sense.

Clarions field are low ground and they look to funnel water to them, especially softball. Have diamonds about 1/4 mike apart. Not friendly when we had a softball and baseballer last year.

She bought shoes and didn't try them on first?

At West Bend tonight. Really question if we will play. I probably can’t make it, think I bring my sister home today. Iowa City is horrible in communication.

I'd think West Bend is underwater by now. I know US Hwy 169 is closed somewhere between Algona and Fort Dodge, the east fork of the Des Moines river is out of its banks.

I double check. There's people like CG out there with 2 different sized feet that will mix up the shoes in the box.

One of my son's friends was practice-driving with his dad in a parking lot. He pulled into a spot to park and accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake and ran into the building in front of him. He would have gone right through the front window but somehow managed to turn and hit a brick post with the side of the car. He may have to put up with ridicule about that for the next 70 years or so.

Time for Wx to whine about something other than family. I am really not enjoying grad school. At home I come home from work do dinner, put the kids to bed and start on HW for 3+ hours 3-5 nights a week. This week it seems like whenever I have not been doing something with the family I have been working on it. Just not sure I am willing to give up this much free time for two ish years.

Edit: Quick family update...GFIL just turned on Fox News...where are my ear buds!?!?!?

It's one thing if you risk your own life, but when you risk the lives of rescuers and THEY drown because you were drunk or not wearing a life jacket, or both...

You would not believe how many people do this -- we've fixed a lot of walls that people have driven into. I think what happens is they think they are on the brake instead of the gas, and keep pushing the pedal harder and harder, wondering why they're not stopping.
