They need to stop giving these people passes on texting and killing people. This hopefully is a start. It's against the law for a reason. It's not an "accident" anymore when this happens, it's not like anyone driving hasn't heard about this. It's like claiming "ooops" if you are drunk on your ass and crash into and kill someone. I am more militant on this then people driving slightly intoxicated. Booze can chemically fool your ass into thinking you are "okay". Nothing about texting is fooling you into thinking focusing on something else and not looking at the road is okay.

Related to all of this is the visual center tech war between car manufacturers to have everything touch screen so you HAVE to look away to do anything outside of turn your wipers on. It's massively irresponsible and tired of their lame responses to safety folks questioning it.

PS: This is greatly toned down and doesn't provide a true measure of how angry I am about this. Terrific measures being added to cars to make them safer (backup cams, lane warning, auto braking etc) being negated by stupid **** designers and feckless texting drivers.

Wow!

I thought it was going to be viagra laced, but that would be a terrible idea because I believe those are expensive as crap.

Everyone thought it was Viagra at first, which in no way is over the counter, and was wondering how they got 2 bottles of it. Since it wasn't a prescription drug, I wonder if felony charges are still possible.

From the article it seems like felony charges are definitely possible, but they don't think they want to pursue them. It was a severely stupid thing to do, but they weren't trying to hurt anyone.

Is there such a thing as a cheapy fat tire bike? I have a friend that opened a bike shop in Fremont. The 4 times I have stopped by to say hi he has sold one of those in the short time I was there. About $1,000 a pop. With that massive Costco chicken plant going in and the flood of workers that will flock there I think he will end up selling a lot of bikes.
I think a thousand dollars is pretty normal but you should be able to find a decent one for about 6-700 dollars. I know our Target sells one for less than $300 but it's probably pretty tough to get around on.

Statement by the district. Lots of angry responses by people in the district. @stormchaser2014 , could you enlighten us to past incidents that are being talked about in the responses?

Not really. Only know a few of the people that commented. All I can say is a lot has changed since I was in school. From what I hear, there are teachers that just don't care about students, especially ones that are on their way out. When I was there, all the teachers gave a **** and wanted to help students learn.

I find it ironic that on occasion mine will have a message pop up while driving reminding me that watching the screen is dangerous and I have take my eyes off the road to press the OK button to acknowledge it.

Here it is, BDI model they discontinued a few years ago (explains my roadtrip to Racine where I found one). It's got a rotating base so you can swivel it. I have some cherry stain Stressless furniture and some cherry cabinet Polk Audio speakers (tower L/R, base and center) so this is going to be perfect for the 60" TV to sit on.

Joined a slow pitch league last night. Went 3-3 with a HR, triple, and single leading off. We are on the 2 time defending champs, so lots of pressure.

GF reached on an error in the last inning and proceeded to be the last out of the game at 3rd base. Tried sliding and taking the guy out, bout took out his family jewels.

We lost by 1 run......

How the hell does anyone get anything done working on a freaking server? /usr/bin/mine/this/ ./go. GREP || tar

I'm trying to figure out why a Perl script isn't doing what I want.

A couple weekends back, I was running on the trails in a nearby forest preserve, and I saw a couple of people out riding these types of bikes. They are visually striking, and I keep coming back to this encounter... what is the deal with these? They're called fat bikes? Are they specifically for trails?

I'm thinking about adding cycling to my workouts for some cross-training, and I need a bike of my own. I'm wondering if a fat bike is what I need?

I was looking at a mountain bike really hard but took a fat bike out and it was so much fun. They aren't very nimble but are very forgiving. They certainly aren't a performance bike but provide a pretty good work out because lot of rolling resistance. (At least it seems that way to me)

In your area there are probably quite a few opportunities for group rides. More than likely they are road bike centric.

My best recommendation would be to visit a local bike shop and explain what you want to do and see what they recommend. I would try a few different types and manufacturers bikes do not all fit the same. I'm not very brand loyal I own Trek, Cannondale & Specialized I end up buying on fit and value/price.
