Referendum has been proposed in my town. It would be building a elementary school, 4k-6th, onto the high school, moving 7th and 8th into the high school, and tearing down the elementary and middle schools, which were built in the 50s. The problem with referendums in my town is all the older people, anyone who graduated in the 50s-80s, don't vote for referendums because they survived the schools so they are still good in their opinion. Elementary school has no AC, and there is asbestos in it too.
80's? Don't lump me in there. I vote up every school referendum. I also put a pro-schools sign up in my yard for every referendum. I also than tell my boss that I did this and explain that this does not endorse a single party and only endorses one issue and that I will not publicly endorse any candidate or party. I take my government ethics seriously.

I changed it to 60s. They always fail here by a narrow margin. I'm afraid this one is will end up being an ultimatum. If it doesn't pass, the schools will close sooner rather than later due to dwindling enrollment because of the run down schools.

On top of that, the schools could get condemned due to safety issues. I've noticed some small town schools have used this route to pass referendums.

They'll publicly list a couple different options beforehand, one of the options being a ridiculously nice school with all the bells and whistles, one being the option they actually expect to get and a third being the cost to upgrade the existing schools which tends to cost more than the second option.

Baraboo is circus town.
OK. Is this the bear?

Can't upgrade because they are so old, and even if you could it would cost more to upgrade 2 schools than to build a combined new one.

and then those older folks will complain about the dying town and how all the young people leave.

That's going to require some seriously scorching hot to stay above the Vickie Mendoza line.

I've dated and even married girls all over that spectrum. Unfortunately it's hard to tell how far they are on the X matrix while your staring at their Y values. Unfortunately some of the hotter ones dipped WAY below the Vicky Mendoza line eventually.

Looks like I'll be taking the rain delay on outdoor activities today. Oh well electrical problems on one vehicle and brake lines on another to work on. Electrical should be easy it's either replacing batteries or cleaning cables. Brake line problem we'll see, may outsource that one depending how hard it is to get to all the places that need getting to.

Note to self, avoid RAGBRAI car shuttling plans this summer with NWICY. Does not operate safe vehicles.
