So over the past year I've lost about 35 lbs by just eating better and drinking less. Yesterday my extended family had our Christmas, and I was drinking lots of beer and eating lots of unhealthy food. I've felt bloated all day; weighed myself a few minutes ago and I gained 6 ******* pounds in one day. I get that its just water weight and should go back down in a few days, but that's ridiculous.

Thank you. I'm suspicious of a lot of these diets that are out there, but I'll vouch for Weight Watchers. It does work.

Not exactly sure.
Algona had an ad talking about a new weekend deal this year they are hosting. Called “achin’ for bacon”. Just sounded wrong.

Welp longish work weekend. Topped of with a low tire before leaving was losing air too fast so pulled it into the shop and changed it on a concrete floor with heat and out of the wind. Way better than along side the interstate. Put the donut on and will fix the real tire tomorrow.

Once I got home knocked out Christmas cards and presents. Only thing left will be some cooking before family events start tomorrow night.

Had a great uncle who had polio. In those days it was hard if not impossible to get hired with it, although he did have a job at the post office later in life.

He used to make money betting at the bar (yeah, he drank a lot). He'd arm wrestle, usually with lit cigarette butts on either side - the loser got his hand pressed into the butt. Or he'd bet drinks that nobody could pull him off balance by his hair. He'd plant his good leg in front of him and let guys yank away. Finally one guy pulled his scalp away from his skull, and Uncle Edgar quit doing that. The irresistible force meeting the immovable object.....only the object got moved.

No politics, just want to know. Will I receive mail tomorrow?

Los of agencies were already funded this fiscal year. The shutdown is not all encompassing by any means and nothing close to some of the shutdowns of past years. My old agency is not affected, funded for FY19.

The good news is, even though the government is partially shut down, Congress still gets paid!
