Off the grid
The ticketmaster queue for tickets is dumb. I'm trying to buy concert tickets and I've been in a queue for two hours. No end in sight.

Not exactly sure.
That's exactly like if you were waiting in line at the concert venue like before the internet though? It's to help limit scalpers

In the old days, I would call Witchita for the Ames concerts. Usually they didn't have concert sale at the same time so I could place an order fairly quickly and just pick them up in Ames and not have to fight the Ames phone traffic or stand in line.

Yeah, I have worked at several theaters and arenas and we always made sure that we staffed up a little in the box office whenever a big show at another arena in the same city or nearby city went on sale because we would definitely see a bump in traffic.

Even having worked in TicketMaster buildings I still get upset on the rare occasion when I purchase tickets. I bought some concert tickets to surprise the kids last week. The fees were fully 1/3 of the price of the tickets. And don't go blaming it on the venue since of that almost $30 (per ticket) only $3 was the venue fee. And I would have had to pay still more if I wanted actual physical tickets to give to the kids.

I can't think of a famous person I look like but I have one for my dad before he died.

Here is the best approximation of one of my brothers:

What famous person do you look like?
I've been told John Cusack, Nicholas Cage, Justin Verlander and local weather Nazi Paul Douglas.

I always heard ticket prices were so expensive because those darn foremen were getting paid too much. The assistant foremen are always doing their work and getting paid a pittance of them.

The biggest issues today are the "pre sale" ticket sales. If you are a member of a fan club you can buy tickets before the general public. If you are an American Express gold member (or whatever they call it) you can buy tickets before the general public ad nauseum.
By the time tickets are made available to the general public there are barely any left to be sold. That's how a 2 night stand of Taylor Swift can sell out in five minutes.

yep, part of it was like "organize parental volunteering" something like that and I was joking to a mom coworker that lol I'm going to dodge that bullet. Be the bad mom. Dude I ain't got time for that to start up yet.

And parents just never make that time......

Bud, you might want to check what you go to. Most females there will be way to young for you.

About to head up north for a Christmas party for the company I have worked with for the last two summers (and this upcoming summer). The party is at 6 and I have to drive back to Ames yet tonight after the party is over. Going to be a long afternoon/evening in the car but they have been so good to me so I figure it's worth it.
