Third class last night! This one is a little less PG so maybe don't let the new kid read. We got there with our snack that not many people ate but whatevs, now we have chips and salsa at home. Watched a video about the the "R's" of labor. I said to DH......rest, relaxation........rum???? He said no. I had one of the three correct. Then chipper leader lady mentioned that you can bring smoothies to eat if you like. Lean over to DH........so I could bring an ice cream smoothie then? He goes you mean a shake? No, I mean an ice cream smoothie. Sounds healthier that way.
She said some people bring coolers to the L&D room. DH is like cool, I'll bring a six pack to keep entertained. She also mentioned there is a community fridge with all the clear liquid diet stuff and I had an amazing light bulb moment when I pointed out to DH that Moscato is in fact, a clear liquid. So I feel brilliant now. Oh, and she said something blah blah about continuing to eat healthy because you are what you eat or whatever. I told DH that means this baby will be half pizza, half ice cream.
Oh, we watched another video of a woman giving birth and this one showed the exit..........pretty sure I experienced whatever it is guys feel when they see a nut shot. That sympathy cringe/retraction of body parts.
Then we did different stations of comfort things you can try during labor. I imagine it's different once you know, you're in labor, but the peanut ball was just weird as heck. The snacks were right next to one of the stations and she joked about the "snack station" and was then like "just kidding, that's not a real one" and I'm all like but why not??? Snack station would be my comfort measure.
Anyway, seems I like the ones where you get to move around and such like the fit ball and slow dance type ones. Particularly where I stood in front of DH and he sort of held my belly. Asked if he'd do that all day for me and he said no.
One the way home, I asked DH what he learned in class and he goes "that I'll have to be careful if you want to do that one swaying back and forth in front of me."
