What website do people use to check the weather on their PC?
Weather.com has turned into such a complete POS that it's time to look elsewhere. Half the time it can't even load.

If you don't like the NWS graphics, Accuweather is OK. I know a couple of people that like Weather Underground but I find it a bit messy.

Has anyone been to the Texas State Fair?

I'm arguing with people in the internet that claim the surrounding neighborhood (called Fair Park) is the most dangerous place in Texas. Apparently there are police in riot gear during the fair to protect the citizens and you're almost guaranteed to get mugged at night.

I live within walking distance to that area and have walked many times from the fair at night and sure it's not as nice as other areas but I've never felt unsafe once.

This reminds me of folks claiming Memphis is like a third world country during the lead up to the Liberty Bowl.

I heard some Husker fans the other day complaining about Alabama's claim of 17 National Championships in football and that they really can't be valid because the Huskers only have 5

According to the College Football Data Warehouse, the following schools have won the most (consensus) national championships:

Princeton - 26
Yale - 18
Notre Dame - 13
Alabama - 12

The Ivy League schools' totals are somewhat misleading, because in those days the number of colleges that actually fielded teams was fairly small. Neither Princeton nor Yale has won a championship in what is considered the "modern" era.

There are no images of purple and gold high wheel bikes. Trust me. I googled it. I did learn that a high wheel bike is also called a penny farthing so it wasn't a complete waste of my time.

The latest thing now is the robo calls that are disguised as local cell numbers....but you can always tell because the area code is also listed. I won't even answer those. The vixen says, aren't you at least going to see who it is? And I say if it's important they'll leave a message.

They never do.

Same area code...same prefix! Those are immediately denied calls. It helps that I still have a Nebraska number, and that those from Nebraska I might be getting a call from are in my contacts.
