I've seen everything now. They are broadcasting cornhole games on ESPN.

And I assume when someone posts about the "GI bug" they caught they are talking about army ants.

May need to watch it since I play with my 11 year old who never reads any rules (none of my kids ever did and lost them right away) so all games are played by BC family rules. Just finished a game of spike ball on our patio when a few neighbor kids came up to play. They didn’t know how we were playing our style.

Good weekend. Finally got some bike riding in, Sat. for a short hr and a couple of good afternoon rides in yesterday. Used the fat bike for all rides so it was kind of slow but lots of fun rode at Lime creek conservation area at Mason City, then caught the slow roll in MC in the evening. That thing really is fun on gravel, dirt, and grass.

Work was a good thing also, reasonable on both days.

Congratulations to @CycloneErik , I'm assuming he made it across the stage this weekend. (if you made it this far, I'm sure they'll pass your defense when you take it;)).

Well hope everyone had as good of weekend as I had.

We used to drive through Backbone at night to see all of the raccoons raiding the trash cans. Lot's of little glowing eyes...
My sensei used to throw a party every year at the primitive campground at Backbone. My buddy and I were sleeping in the bed of his pickup and I heard a noise. Two raccoons were staring at us from the tailgate. I would say that Backbone is the prettiest park in Iowa, IMO.

All I want is warm and no rain for a couple weeks. Nothing done up here.

It was Thursday. Fun ceremony for a while, at least poking fun at the speaker unaware of anything beyond her field. But then it drags. No surprise to anyone there.

Since we PhDs went first, the few I was chatting with in the seats and I discussed staging a walkout or a sit-in so the Master's students didn't have to eat up our evening.

The defense should go great. It's just talking about something where I'm the world's only expert, and the thing is well-written now. That should just be a fun time.

The young kid, who I believe is austistic, on the show “the middle” apparently has therapy the same time and place as my daughter it appears.

Athletic is not how you describe this kid. Think a three legged cow is more coordinated and moves smoother than this kid.

Thanks to @Cybirdy for the mother’s day idea. Wife is getting a new iPhone. Think I will wrap up case of an old one and let her decide what she wants. Most likely an 8.

Is there anything worse than having to rake rocks out of the yard?
Reminds me of a story. In the neighborhood I grew up in, we had a neighbor across the street who would walk through his front yard ditch and pick up rocks -- every night! He wouldn't even let his kids go in the front yard. And he would wear a broom out every summer, sweeping his driveway off. My best friend and I got this idea, and we collected rabbit turds until we had an ice cream bucket almost full. After he was done sweeping for the night, we scattered them all across his driveway and sidewalks, rang his doorbell and hid over the bank. He went over to my house and blamed it on my big sister! She had no idea what he was talking about, but he was mad! Probably swept until midnight.

Picking up apples out of the yard is the correct answer to this.

Played two games of charity kickball on Saturday, then was at the Tulip Time festival for around 8 hours. Still. So. Sore. My legs I understand, but my back at my shoulders? I was playing 2nd base, and if I had a ground ball to me, I'd chest pass it to 1st basketball-style. (More accurate than an overhand baseball throw) Between the two games, I unfortunately missed probably 3 or 4 pop-ups towards me. Bleh. I did catch one for the final out of an inning. I'm just used to the _very_ limited softball I've played, and the physics of how a softball will travel/fall.

Oh, I did get on-base at least twice, and got an RKI (Run Kicked In). And, just about took out the first baseman of the other team because she was standing RIGHT on top of the base. I would have won that collision, too.

This has been your Lame Substitute of a Kickball Update Since @cowgirl836 Actually Swallowed a Kickball. ;)

But did you call anyone a whoarr?

Thanks!

Only expert? I don't know about that. It seems that Z has become pretty adept at detecting zombies in an apartment, too.
