For those of you who know Fort Dodge - @Angie, @jcyclonee, @NWICY, et al - two long-time landmarks are slated for desertion. I have plans for a new $12M Catholic church on my desk, which will replace Sacred Heart and Corpus Christi churches, both of which are wonderful examples of church architecture. (Corpus Christi is on the list of national landmarks, I believe.) Many Catholics I know here are disappointed, if not disgusted.....but the sad truth is that the church is suffering from a crucial lack of clergy. Every single Catholic church in the county has been abandoned, except the two in FD. But this is a trend I see in all denominations.
Oh hell no. I guess in its extended little metaphor Boxster would be the Father. Full Boxster is Old Testament God.Does that make boxster one of his disciples?

Like 'em, can't grow 'em. Not enough sun. They seem to do better against a wall. I've seen people plant them in the middle of a bed, but our midwestern rain just beats the crap out of them if they don't have some kind of support to balance the height and top-heaviness.Hey @ImJustKCClone, whats your opinion on hollyhocks?

Ive got about 6 of them at the house, that, now that they are blooming look decent, but Im not a huge fan of them. Couple are taller than me and another are about my height. Buggest down side is they are around the air conditioner, so they need to at least move. Just trying to see what the resdent horticultural expert thinks of them.
If you think you're talking to the resident expert, honey, you're barking up the wrong tree!!! I buy lots of plants off the "dead plant racks". I'm cheap. The post-bloom perennials are how I got several weigela and most of my lilies. For annuals, the petunias I bought took off and are blooming like crazy now that they're not root-bound any more, and the coleus have all risen from the dead as well. Also picked up a couple of gerbera daisies and several coreopsis, all of which are doing nicely. The only thing I have NOT been able to get going this year is the caladiums. I sprung for a half dozen roots, and planted them, but have not seen a single one sprout. I'll get some after they go off market at the store - I like them because they add color among all of the lily and hosta foliage after those finish blooming. If you don’t want them I probably have a neighbor who will take them. They pee away money and go cheap on the wrong things. All the landscaping consists of what she got by going door to door and asking people if they had anything they didn’t want.

Listen, I’m not saying I’m on the same level as Jesus, but it would be smart of all of you to make that assumption.

She want any river rock, hostas, a crazy rose bush, or some random bushes as well?
Problem is yes she would take it and make a mess.
I didn't realize you lived near me...Not complaining about cheap, but this lady will only do free from already planted hand outs. Most people have a rhyme and reason for what they landscape with. This looks like 10 drunk people grabbed stuff, and randomly planted and bricked stuff.
