Side note: I crack up whenever the surgeon writes (yes) on the appendage and initials it. I would probably laugh less if they operated on the wrong one, though.

You wanted to look good for the cute doctor.
Actually, she WAS pretty cute. And very young. Matter of fact, I met her in her office once - in early October. We scheduled the surgery for 30 December. When she came into the prep room before the surgery she was wearing scrubs and a surgical cap. I had no clue who she was. :)

Along that same line - and @BoxsterCy might agree to this - it's a little disconcerting now when I see a new doctor for advice, and I've probably got 30 years life experience on them. I handle it okay, but it seems like the docs I've been seeing for years are all retiring and being replaced by Doogie Howsers and and Howserettes. :)

Everyone seems ridiculously young when you have one hairy foot in the grave.

Got an email today about being able to take off early for labor day, but I had someone dump a small project on me yesterday (because they are taking PTO) and now I'm waiting on that. All of my own stuff is completed. So, waiting.

Working from home today due to sick daughter

Cons:
- daughter is sick
- laptop not set up for work websites/favorites/passwords
- no access to stored phone numbers

Pros:
- no traffic at end of day
- pants are optional
- don't have to hide the beer I'm drinking
- bathroom is cleaner and toilet paper is softer
- no access to stored phone numbers
- being inaccessible for people to ask me dumb questions frees up a lot of time to actually do my job
- in case I didn't mention it, pants are optional
