Back home after a late night soccer game. Daughter's team was worse in every single position than the team we played.

It was u-g-l-y. I haven't seen them beat down like that for about 3 years.

Went for a bike and ride and drinks with coworkers tonight. That slowly went down hill. Now I am laying here wide freaking awake even after two Midnites and two Advil PMs over the last two hours. Dammmmn

Finally fell asleep 20-30 minutes after this...

Every time the neighbors fire up their lawnmowers it makes me appreciate how much quieter my cheap 15 year old Sears Briggs & Stratton is then all of their LOUD units.

Went to the casino. Won $50 on $10 on the first pull of a slot machine. Then played mostly penny slots. Was up about $200, but I learned the hard way to quit while I'm ahead. Then played black jack for a little bit. Ended up losing about $250. Can see how it's so easily addicting. Good thing there's no casinos near me.

This morning, pondered what I wanted to haul around the State Fair all day. None of the kids have had an asthma attack for a couple of years, thought about the emergency inhaler, decided I better take it, better safe than sorry.

Sure enough, youngest got a face full of cigarette smoke from some ditz in the midway and had an attack. So pretty happy I had it.

I felt after I at least saved him the embarrassment of healthcare intervention at the Fair, he laughed a little too hard when his dad and I both ducked at the prank bat that came from the rafters in the cattle barn.

Fun that ISU booth giving away the light sticks.

Had a family picnic today, got to see cousins from both Mo. and Mn. that I don't get to see very often. The Mo. one I see a little more because of hoops, but the Mn. ones are more weddings and funerals. Went to the park where they are camping at and had a nice visit with them it was good to catch up with them.

You have to learn casino logic.
Walk in expecting to lose $500
Actually lose $250
Logically if you expected to lose $500 and only lost $250 then you actually WON $250

I swear that's how people do it. Vegas wasn't built on people winning yet everyone that goes to the casino regularly insists they win, and on the extremely rare occasion they will admit they lost they will mention that they are UP in the long run.

@cowgirl836 did you go international plan for your phone when you went to Scotland?

It seems spendy. Someone told me about WHatsApp, but I'm unsure if the person you're communicating with has to have the app as well or not.

My daughter uses WhatsApp with a friend in Italy, but they both have the app. And they mostly text or send videos, not sure if they have ever used it to make calls (can it do that?) They also FaceTime occasionally. My parents take their phones/mini Ipad and just use IMessage when they have free wifi.

I am trying to decide what all to bring today. Usually we have a stroller so I can throw our backpack and a small cooler in the basket below. This year we may attempt to go without (will have it in the van and get it if absolutely necessary). That means I get to carry the backpack, and that gets heavy after a few hours. We go like 10-12hrs, so I know the youngest will be struggling after a few hours this morning.

Bingo. My in laws know what they are doing and what not but they will go down to Riverside because they got a free night. I have never been ballsy enough to ask how much they had to loose to get that free night.

I absolutely hate talking on the phone, so I'm not worried about that too much. Mostly just texting.

I have a friend that just had a baby. She posted a profile pic of her with the baby after she had it. I can totally see her nipple. Now, it's no big deal to me; a nipple is just a nipple, whatever. But she definitely seems the type that wouldn't normally post her nipple in a profile pic. Debated telling her, but held off because me saying "hey, I can totally see some nip" seems like it would just make me seem like a creeper.

Costa Rica in a couple weeks.

Ah, thought that was earlier and done for some reason. Not sure about Costa but Mexico was $5/day under Verizon's one international plan. Only kicked in if you called/texted which would start a 24 hour period. Over a couple weeks I did 2-3 days for texting/catch up, not too bad. same plan for Europe is $10/day so I just tossed the phone in the safe or had it on airplane mode and just used the phone.

Just got back from Colorado trip last night. Here are the stats:
2,421 miles driven. 41:40 worth of drive time. 137 gallons. 55.2 avg mph. One $560 car repair (Water pump. Luckily, the coolant dumped just as we were pulling into the house we were staying at). Best new beer - Pike's Peak IPA. One hospital visit (neighbor had kidney stones). 4 bike tires went flat among the group.
