Looked for a Meme of Alf with, "The only good cat is a stir-fried cat." Failed.

No worries. That's the whole point of "random". :)

I've been wondering how this would be handled. On a personal basis I'm a lot more forgiving of public intox or MIP citations than I am of OWI. Two are *relatively* harmless. The third - well, that can get innocent people killed or maimed. Ames is too small for someone to be "forced" to drive while under the influence.

This isn't the only reason he's being let go. More like the last straw from what I understand.

I go away for a couple days and now I'm a little

The new site seems user-friendly, but this may take my mind a sec to adjust to the change
Yeah, this'll take some getting used to. I haven't been able to be on here much, and probably won't be on here much until I leave, but so far I like that it actually blocks all the content from the people on your ignore list

Good story on local first responders training for a mass casualty event. In this case it was a school bus crash. My only question is...were the women crying actors?

Maybe. Our high school Thespians Society used to "perform" for those training sessions. They would assign injury (cuts, broken bones, internal bleeding, etc) and "drama" levels (screamers, whiners, stoic but severely injured, "helpful onlookers", etc) to us in advance. We did them a couple of times a year, with different scenarios, sometimes in tandem with kids from the other three high schools. They were fun...especially if you got a "high drama" role. :)

My parents were on the volunteer ambulance department for a few years. I got to pretend I was drowning a few times for their training. Once in the swimming pool and once in the river.

No, I just never was a good role player. I am good at taking charge in a crisis and these forced you to act and try to talk out what you see instead of actually seeing it.
I am a member of our critical incident stress management team. During one of our role play scenarios we got to pick our own name. I chose Cobra.

Cobra is a VERY violent movie. One time my brother and I watched it and kept a tally of how many people were killed. We had 4 categories: definitely dead, most likely dead, will probably die from that gunshot wound if they don't get medical attention soon, and probably survived. The number of definitely dead and most likely dead was in the 90s, with the "most likely dead without medical attention" pushing it just over the triple digits. Yes, we had been drinking.
