Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

I did once which was pretty funny to see. I might be able to see it more if I wasn't stuck in the blasted law school for 14 hours a day, not that I'm bitter or anything

That will all change someday when you get to spend 14 hours a day in a law office. :twitcy:

Hey guys. I've been busy and haven't read anything I think for a week. We canceled our family trip, but instead almost went to the zoo and then got to have Z play with her cousins.

Some firsts to be checked off yet.

My BIL and his family came down to visit his grandma. So we took Z over yesterday afternoon to play with her cousins. We set her down and she made her way into the living room and , "ZOE!!!" was shrieked from the three of them.

Then they were playing with some little toys and Z picked them up and smiled at them and said, "I win!"

I have no idea why she said that. She's never said that before, but it was extremely cute.

Just saw a close-up picture of my future DIL, who I will meet this weekend. Eyes are a pale color, but hard to tell if blue or green. Here's a thought though - don't ask your color-blind son what color his fiance's eyes are. :)

Can you accept another ginger into your gene pool?

You know, this reminds me...so I took Thursday afternoon off to go eat lunch with little00 at school. There's this kid in his class, boy is laaarge. Keep in mind, little00 is in kindergarten, so at age 5, kid is already heading down a bad path. He happened to be at the next table, facing me, so I pretty much had to watch him eat his lunch when I wasn't turning to face little00. He brought lunch from home, so he was sitting and eating while little00 went thru the line, so I can't vouch for what he might have ate before we sat down. What I saw he ate....started out with a ziploc bag of potato chips, mowed those down with no hesitation. Onto the candy bar. Like, not a 'chocolate covered granola bar' or something, thing was a full on (fun sized) candy bar. He enjoyed that ****, had it on his face and stuff. Then some sort of tortilla rollup thing. After that, he brought out the Hi-C drink box. Finally, a full banana.

It's like...how do you tell a parent that they're ruining their kid by trying to make them happy and fulfilled constantly? The kid doesn't know any better, he just has a bag full of junk and eats it. I mean the banana was the closest to appropriate food in there. As much as I joke about pork fat, sununvabich, I'm going to make sure my kids eat relatively healthy.

<endrant, sorry>

I am extremely thankful that Z runs off her carb intake and enjoys most fruits and veggies. I try to have mostly healthy crackers at home. The poor kid may be getting teased too. :(

I think she prefers it be called auburn, whatever color that is.

Ginger (to me) is the people with the orange or bright red hair (Carrot Top or Bryce Dallas Howard). Auburn is more brownish red...looks dark copper in bright sunlight, less red/more brown when under normal indoor lighting.

Most of the pics of me on FB are indoors or shadowed. Check my employee picture and you'll see what my hair looks like in bright lights.

This...he was sitting at lunch with a larger girl, perhaps they huddle together for support. I really struggle with this kid, they go to our church and I kind of know the dad. He and little00 were at the same table for a while in their kindergarten class, so they kind of became friends a little, did a few play dates. Every time little00 came back and we ask what they did, it involves a snack, even if the play date was only an hour. When he came over to our house, I observed a little, and the kid is kind of weird, they were using little00's globe to figure out what country they were going to take over.

It's a struggle, because it's not like I'm going to tell little00 to not be friends with him, because yeah, the kid is probably going to need every friend he can get, but on the other hand, little00 is a bit shy and influenced by the crowd, so I worry....and with the parents, I think the mom is the spoiler and the household leader, so even if I felt comfortable saying something to the dad, I don't think it'd help. I think the wife has older kids from a previous marriage and my friend was telling me over the weekend that they've got some messed up stuff going on as well that the mom seems to not have any qualms about.

If your name was not called, better luck next year.

That middle grouping has a solid balance of quality and quantity

Speaking of wienermobiles, I took this picture yesterday on my way home and chuckled.

Sometimes you just have to have a nice car to make up for your other shortcomings
