Definitely time to lose weight. That or buy new clothes and I'm too cheap for that. Start packing lunches and eating the same thing.

JC, where is the daughter dancing next week, my daughter has a comp in MN next week I believe. What did she do climb the Hancock building?
It's not my daughter. It's her friend. She's dancing at Roy Wilkens. It could be the same competition. This is the friend with a cousin on the ISU dance team and another cousin that used to be on the dance team.

I don't think he climbed the Hancock bu he was playing basketball all afternoon and then went to a friend's house and jumped on their trampoline and went hiking in the woods behind their house.

We're just kicking back in the office, and he's been playing music off his computer. Mostly country artists, singing old-time "Sunday Go To Meeting Hymns" from my SBC past:

Standing On the Promises
Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus
Just a Closer Walk With Thee
Amazing Grace
In the Garden
Love Lifted Me
Just As I Am
Old Rugged Cross
Sweet Bye & Bye
When We All Get To Heaven

I realized I've been quietly singing along with every single one of them (I had him go back through the play list so that I could type the titles). Familiar, comforting hymns that most young folks never hear in church any more. :(

Rev & Erik might be the only ones to fully appreciate this one as some of those are strongly identified with the SBC. I hope this isn't too cave-y. :)

If that's too cavey, I'da been banned long ago. I had to get up after communion and speak to a couple hundred people...always say I don't get weird about public speaking...and I always realize I'm wrong about that the moment I'm up there  We're doing our "sign up for stuff" drive, and they asked for people to talk.

Talked about "stewardship" and 1 Corinthians 12, gifts and the members of the church as parts of the body. I cut out the part where Mrs00 thinks I might be the backside....probably a wise choice.

I actually know the vast majority of those songs. Be glad that I'm not there helping you sing, singing is not a strong point for me.

I'm listening to Jessie's Girl by Rick Springfield.

Pretty much the same thing.

Maybe I am ready for the cave. Burned off a letter to the editor pretty much calling a Minnesota political legend a sad old pathetic gadfly. Man, today's article about her vain entitled attempts to hang on to her office just hit my hot button.

Of course, after I hit "send" I had a second thought about Hatch Act restrictions. Did a double check and I am okay, probably, but I bet I hear about it at work if it gets published.

Accordingly, a federal employee may write a letter to the editor or post a comment on a blog endorsing a candidate, provided he does not do so while on duty or in a federal building or vehicle. Further, he must endorse the candidate in his personal capacity and may not identify his federal position or office. Finally, the endorsement may not contain a request for political contributions or information about where voters may contribute, even if the employee makes the endorsement anonymously.

need to get landscape work done so I look at the weather and says rain by like 1:30. Look at map and think it's not quite that far away but I should be able to get some of what I wanted to do done in an hour or so. We get in the garage to reassemble wheelbarrow that we had to take apart to get home........about 20 minutes in we hear a crack of thunder and it starts raining.

Welp. DH is off Friday and that looks to be beautiful weather. So I hope he can get a lot done on Friday and then we can work hard Saturday before the birthday party that evening.

Though it might clear up in a bit and we can get a little more done.

Love the songs, but I've never yet been a Southern Baptist.

Sounds like video game and cross stitching weather to me.

Very exciting trip to Aldi this morning. I bought a new nose and ear hair trimmer for $3.99. Also, they had boat shoes for $8.99. I didn't get any for myself but wanted to see the reaction from the boat shoe crowd for no-name boat shoes from Aldi.

Also, this is for BC, I bought a 12.5 oz. bottle of shampoo/conditioner for $0.75 at Menards this morning.

NICE!!! I one time won a gallon jug of generic shampoo/body wash as a door prize. Nobody else wanted it. I was set for a year at the farm .

Dethatcher was on our lawn when we got home from church, had go break down the trampoline and just got done rebuilding it. That blew!!!

What kind of parking garage doesn't let you pay in cash? Yesterday I couldn't get out of a parking garage because I didn't have a diet card to pay the fee. So I was just sitting there for a good 5 minutes and eventually the person behind me paid the $2 fee.

VEry few of them around here accept cash at the gate. Some have machines when you walk back into the parking ramp that will accept cash and give you a ticket to run through the machine at the gate.
