Last day.....you can do this, Pants.....

Does anyone have belt drive garage door openers? How quiet are they? We are debating putting a couple in since the bedrooms are over garage.

In-laws in MN have belt drive ones. A lot less noise than chains. I'd say it's on par with a loud-ish electric can opener. However, I would say that if it's right under a bedroom, it might be a frequency that goes thru walls well.

New houses being built kiddycorner from me. Both spec houses. One contracror sided it identical to a house across the street from it.

All of the state's FFA kids have descended on Ames today. Luckily we didn't hit today during our lunch rush. Earlier 00 had a post about fruit flavored tootsie rolls. i'm also a fan but can never find them so I usually only get a fix during a parade or two. Walked into HyVee today and they have 360 ct bags of each different flavor. Picked up 3.

Random:

My niece got me to watch Divergent when it came out so I ended up sorta getting into the series. I watched Insurgent when it came out on HBO.

This weekend, Mrs. Cooler and I had a free evening and decided to take in the latest movie of the series (Allegient). I'm a pretty easy-going movie critic, but man, that thing was just a mess.

too busy reading the Bubu, I mean Moody, thread. I want to stop but cannot.

semi-following along on that one. GTO's pic was awesome though. Just perfect. The discussion about majors had me remember that Samara on the vball team came in as pre-vet. I was curious if she still was. Looks like she's in CAFS now. Thought one of the girls was in some kind of engineering but don't see it now.

The oldest daughter and son asked me to read the books (they thought I'd like them because I liked the Hunger Games books). The first wasn't that bad but the other two were just frustrating to read. How many times do people try to kill each other and than go around eating dinner with them later?

We had a free night also and went to see 10 Cloverfield Lane. It was pretty good. It was a little slow at times (probably intentionally) but had a couple of twists and a surprising ending (not super-realistic but still).

Also, if you're in the Twin Cities, I will put out a plug for Dayblock Brewery. Really good food and the Red beer is great. My wife didn't really care much for the wheat beer so you probably don't want to get that.

I made the same Hunger Games comparison. First book - pretty good concept, fun read. Second book - it's ok, but now I feel like I have to read the next one. Third book - yet more proof that everything does not need to be a trilogy.
