I saw this post from Raygun (a shirt store in Des Moines) which I thought was pretty good. I'd just skip to the end where it "translates" midwestern, and I think I've used a few of these.

I would think the daycare would want to portray openness to the parents. At the same time, I can see it being disruptive (depending on age/class type).
When I was searching for quick information on preschools, most of them wanted you to know that the parent could drop in.

I would wear work/church dress, but not dressy.

I have a skirt I really like, but I normally wear it with a sleeveless top.......and that's not good for a couple weekends from now. And I can't decide if I like it with a blazer on. I didn't want to do just nice jeans and a blazer though - nothing wrong with that, it's just what I always wear and I wanted to wear this skirt. And then I get into the whole boots or heels thing because we'll be walking around afterward.
Think I'll end up asking the other girls who are going. Don't want to freeze to death.
I just laughed at that pic - like ah shoot, I'm late to my audition cause I got attacked by a tiger on the way here and didn't have time to change!
The skirt doesn't look good with a nice sweater? Do you have fancy shawls? The only quick ideas I have. Or since you might have a coat already just wear it.
The sweaters I have are more tunic-y length. I did try one with it last night but it was too long. The skirt is also dark purple so that does limit some colored things. That's true that I'll probably take my coat anyway.
I think I'm going to give it whirl at a wedding tomorrow with the blazer and heels. If the heels are a bad idea, then I'll know for the show. And then I'll just scrap the skirt idea. So far weather is looking to be 63/50 (much warmer than tomorrow!) so that's actually not bad for a skirt with tights at night.
Within reason, and depending on the type of daycare. Sometimes parents randomly dropping in can be VERY disruptive to the kids' routines.

People auditioning for dance roles in musicals? Seems pretty logical to me.....
are you sure there is legal authority there? i stopped by for the first time ever to say hello and was told i couldn't come in unless it was to pick him up.
her reasoning was she doesn't do background checks on the parents and doesn't want there there with other children. i want a new provider. too bad they are so hard to find.
