Was a grad student until May of last year. Now I'm a physical therapist.

(And here is the part of the conversation where everyone tells me about their weird injury and awful experience with PT.)
The two PT's I dealt with before and after my ACL surgery were pleasant and attractive (not that it matters but it doesn't hurt). One of them actually grew up in a town about 20 miles from my hometown. We had discussions about which town was more trashy.

Started out in a sciencey (chemical engineering) program. Ended up in business. I suspect that I'm not the only one that did this in here.

When I took my ISU visit, it was for ChemE, sounded boring so I switched to Computer Engineering...after a few years of that, I too, switched to business.

The gal I had got her PT degree from Iowa, but she had her BS from ISU. She told me she "suffered through the years at Iowa", so I kept her as my PT. ;)

Didn't hurt that it was basketball season, and she was a TOTAL basketball nerd, and her fam had season tickets one section over from us. We had LOTS to talk about. :)

Same here. If you are smart and look at my username you could probably figure out what I started in. I was in it for a year and a half and just got tired of fighting and stressing over all the math. I debated transferring to the University of Dubuque to become a corporate or airline pilot but smartly stayed away from it. Decided on business instead and have never looked back.

Started in chemistry and graduated in chemistry. After a couple of years in the workplace, switched to business. Based on everyone's story, sounds like I did it wrong.

I think you folks mostly know I don't have a formal degree (dropped out after my junior year to get my MRS instead). I started in music, switched to accounting. Yeah, I'm weird like that. Music theory and an opera emphasis killed the fun in music for me (stayed in the choirs though).

While working at ISU though, I've taken a number of classes (more for personal growth than a degree plan). Most of them have been "sciency"; biology, gen chem, organic chem, genetics, plant path, and a few that are more closely associated with the work that I do. So I guess you could say I'm "sciency" by default?

You eventually came around. Also, you obviously had more discipline as a Freshman/Sophomore than I did.

Can somebody please set up some kind of a podcast with KC and CG singing a duet?

Thinking of meniscus and the chemistry definition (the curve of liquid where it meets the edge of a container) got me to thinking...am I the only RT regular with an actual sciencey degree? I mean, I know CG is anSci or something and is statistics...just thinking of how large the engineering/physics/chem/math departments are and I might be the only RT regular.

I have a BS in Ag Engineering. Working on a MS in Civil Engineering.

I have a Bachelor of Science...does that count?

Mine to but it has to be one of the "softest" BS degrees ever. I manipulated the science credit requirements and never took anything too hard; "physics for poets", geology (rocks are cool) and meteorology (fun if you are taking them pass/fail). They must have thought the ******** of sociology classes I took for fun were science, the S thing? They are now Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and are like five years and mine was 4 years and a BS?

All of the ACL and MCL talk reminds me of why I don't ski anymore. I sucked at it but went out to Colorado a bunch of springs with the gang. Had a nasty crash on a run with body and knees getting twisted this way and that and as I was lying there in the snow I though this is a miracle that my knee wasn't destroyed. Over beers later I decided I didn't really enjoy skiing that much. I liked being in the mountains. I liked being out there with CCW and my buddies but I could do that without skiing. So, no more skiing and no knee injury (knocks on wood).

Actually my wife had an awesome experience with a PT. She was having knee pains, and went to several different doctors who told her she had tendinitis and that she should ice it and take it easy. Finally one of them said "I can send you to a PT if you really want me to..."

The PT took one look at her and told her that the knee was fine, it was a bulging disc in her back that was the problem.

Judging off of the Jennifer Mac thread CS is currently looking for jobs in KC.
Since I don't know who Jennifer Mac is (I'm assuming it's not the one that doesn't believe in shots), this got me thinking of chili mac. I just started working out again in the mornings after a couple of months off so I am hungry all the time. Anyway, this got me thinking about whether I should make chili for the Vikings/Packers game on Sunday. It seems like a good day to make chili as it should be pretty cold and it is a late afternoon game so the chili could cook all day. Now I have to decide if I should make the spicy, sweet recipe or the healthier part-turkey recipe. Also, should I make wings with the chili to eat during the game? Making wings seems like overkill but the Vikes are actually good this year and I could have some neighbors over so I won't feel obliged to eat all of the wings that I cook. However, Mrs JC is going to a friend's cabin this weekend and may not appreciate coming home to a house with a few neighbors over for a football game and a chili and chicken wing mess in the kitchen with a recycling bin full of empty bottles (I'll think about this dilemma). Moving on, I probably should make guacamole. A meat, cheese and cracker tray might be a good idea so that the girls will have something to eat as they won't eat chili or wings. Maybe tacos would be good but that is just asking for a mess on our new couch. Ooh, I just remembered that Mrs. JC froze some of her special monster cookie dough so that could be put out as a treat.
Back to the point of this post, I might be coming down with a cold and I hope it's not from my flu shot and that Jenny Mac (not CS's honey) is right about shots. So, in conclusion, CS, please send me some brisket from Danny Edwards when you move to KC and be sure to take an inappropriate picture with the pig out front. Beginning a workout routine makes you hungry all the time.

Note: I have not been drinking and the only drug I am using is Dayquil.

Since I am normally a mobile user I just found out that Bawbie lives in CR. I will now look at every Cyclone fan I see around here questioning if he is the one that can kick me off the best website on the internet.

That just has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

If my dream comes true, I will do this for you.

Don't worry, we're all friends in here. You don't have to lie.

High of 29 forecast for Friday. Maybe I should be bringing in the garden hose, test firing the snowblowers and hibernating the Boxster. It's 53 outside now.
