Normally I don't like to regurgitate the sayings that get forwarded on through e-mails, but I thought this one seemed to fit this thread:

If I make you breakfast in bed a simple "thank you" is all I need....not all this "how did you get in my house" business.

What WDSM says to CG for 100 Alex

Happy late birthday to Nickles and Wxman!

I really want Z's cold to be over. Poor kiddo. I had to suction her nose twice over the weekend. Then she woke up multiple times last night/morning.

In happier news, I am really tempted to take her trick or treating this year. I have a really cute ISU cheer outfit that she needs to wear. The downside is that I don't think she could eat any of the candy.

I always make sure I have something for the littlest kids like Teddy Grahams or stickers or even dum dum suckers. The past few years I pass out glow bracelets. Let her collect candy and then swap out a few pieces at the end (or even have a few safe treats in your pockets when she wants to eat as she goes along). Have you heard of the Teal Pumpkin Project? Not sure if many locally particiapte, but if a house has a teal pumpkin out front they should have allergy (or at least nut free) treats.

I took my boys to the houses of a few friends back when they were toddlers...we all had kids at a similar age, so we just rotated between those few houses and ended up with safe treats.

When I was a child, my mother & sisters & I used to spend an entire afternoon making popcorn balls and wrapping them in cellophane & ribbons for her to hand out to the trick-or-treaters. Another family on our block made caramel apples. The days of distributing home-made treats are long gone...as are the days of homemade costumes. Broke my heart the year my guys told me they wanted to buy their costumes like all the other kids. I wasn't THAT great of a seamstress, but helping them decide on, design, & make their costumes was something I enjoyed. :(

My mom is coming tomorrow and one of the things we are doing is making the 4yr old's costume. :) Usually my kids pick something you can't buy or it is just as cheap to make and they look better. This year we have 2 My Little Ponies, Wednesday Addams, and AOL Rose. One My Little Pony is just a sweatshirt that looks like Rainbow Dash, and we are making the other. The other 2 costumes we will.piece together from actual clothes. There used to be a seller on etsy (bonus points if anyone knows what that is) who sold exact replicas of Axle Rose's tattoos, but can't find anything like that right now.

Throw some tats on him and you may get my vote for best costume ever

I have tried getting my wife to sell her crochet stuff on etsy but I think that ship has sailed. She made awesome spiderman and Elsa stocking hats last year for her daycare kids. Sold a few too.

Probably for the same reason that PapaLew won't sell things he makes...he says once it becomes a "business" it's no longer just for fun.

BTW - Hippo birdy two ewes!

Just checking in for my bonus points...I know etsy.

In the category of "Who cares?!" news, Tom Green favorited and retweeted me today. Needless to say, my day has been made.

I'd be much more proud to tell people that you retweeted me before I'd admit that Tom Green did. I try to keep my mind open to obscure comedy, but that guy just always annoyed the hell outta me. It could have something to do with my jealousy of his relationship with Drew Barrymore, but mostly it's just him.

Welp, in the last hour, I went from having a 'free night with nothing going on' suddenly morph to stopping by Home Depot, renting a power washer, moving all the crap off my deck and power washing it tonight while I grill dinner.

I may have to lighten my deck fridge by 12 oz increments, ya know, to make it easier to move.

The professor for this on-line graduate class that I'm taking is a joke. I still haven't received feedback on anything that I've turned in (nothing is graded), and I am still having to e-mail him about resources that are supposed to be posted, but aren't. The questions that he posts that we are supposed to respond to are usually poorly worded, and it makes it difficult to understand what he wants us to address.

If I get anything less than an A in this class he's going to get a terrible review. :twitcy:
