guys, we met with our builder tonight. There are SO many decision we get to make.

What's a good siding color? Something that isnt crazy and wont be too noticeable when it fades
Microwave over the stove or hood thing? Over the stove
Door to the bedroom closet from the bedroom or through the bathroom? From the bedroom

Like, I could do 2 polls a day, I bet. I won't.

hey were is wdsm? He got his luggage all ready to go?

I agree with cmj on 1 & 3.

mmmm, 00 I didn't think about it that way because right now, I'm up first, grab my clothes and go into the bathroom. I worry about smell/humidity getting into my clothes, especially since the door would be near like where I would be doing my hair - hairspray, blow dryer blowing that around, etc. Plus I like to throw stuff on the bed as I decide what to wear. Last reason was that it would be a shorter distance to run back into the closet if we forgot something. But I'll have to run that by DH.

The microwave thing - he said because you lose two little cabinets by doing the hood (which is fine in our plan, there are plenty of cabinets), the cost doesn't end up being much different. I like the idea of the microwave being counter level for kids.

The house next to our lot (not done by our builder) has a lovely seafoam minty green siding. We laughed about it tonight. I think it's pretty, but I would never, ever, ever put it on my house. Unless it were for Easter.

I did c-store lunches a couple times....once I did at like 10am, I think, another one I want to say I went before my 8am class.

But seriously, it's not hard to pack a PBJ sandwich a couple times a week. Do you guys have microwave they can use? Bring a cup of soup.

One day a week. It's one lousy day...Thursday.
We have a microwave. We have a cooler.
It's not freakin' rocket science.

He "doesn't have money to buy food outside his meal plan". Well, maybe he would if he actually worked all the hours he's on the schedule.

When I lived in the dorm at Wazzu, the meal card was for 20 meals (only two on Sunday). You had to eat them at the dining hall attached to your dorm. You could use three transfers a semester, to eat with friends at another dining hall. And you had three guest punches on your card. Most of us used those for Dad's weekend in the fall and Mother's weekend in the spring but you could also use them to cover a meal for a visiting friend.

Apparently here, your card allows you to eat at any dining center on campus...how do they make sure they have the food at the right places? How do they plan the meals?

If you drive through our neighborhood, 90% of siding is white, grey, or along the neutral tan spectrum light to dark. We actually like our house because the siding was a bit different--it is a more yellow tone (but not like a light yellow, still fits into the neutral scheme).

We have a microwave over the oven, I prefer that. We were just looking at a house for sale on our street that is comparable to ours and they had the microwave over the stove. Personally we think the microwave over the stovetop looks a bit "cheaper". We have a corner stovetop with hood.

We've only ever had closet off the bedroom, not the bathroom. But it may work better for you, personal preference.

Hi toots. Id say I'm 80 percent done packing. I spent 20 minutes trying to learn how to tie a tie until I got to ****** off and quit in a rage.

a current student would have to chime in, but it looks like the meal plans all include some bit of dining dollars. It looks like one version may just be meals only, no dollars? But come on, one meal a week?

same on the bedroom thing - never had a closet with the ability to access from the bathroom.

oh, we'd be doing a regular stove/oven thing, didn't clarify that. So we wouldn't have a cooktop in one spot and the oven in the wall or something like that. Though those do look nice.

and yeah, we'd do a neutral-y color but I'd like it to be nice to look at. We'll probably have beigy-cream carpeting so I don't want beige on the outside too! I'm thinking something along the blueish-gray lines but the house across from us did a color like that so we may not be able to do the same one.

sweet, you get to live in the basement with my mom. She wanted the MIL suite but didn't listen when I said the basement will be unfinished. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Did you watch youtube videos about how to tie it?

I have an employee who tells me he has change his schedule because he can't pack a lunch like other students do because he has a meal plan. He has class until 11.50, and is supposed to be to work from noon to five. He already is scheduled for the fewest hours of any of our lab rats (10 hrs), and between showing up late & leaving early, he has actually only worked 6 hours a week the last two weeks, meaning everyone else has to cover for him. This latest is pretty much the last straw as far as I'm concerned, but I wanted to figure out if he's lying about meals or honestly can't bring a lunch with him (he gets a 15min paid break mid shift). I'm not inclined to be lenient or accommodating based on his track record so far.

sounds like he's pretty lazy. He gets dining dollars so he can get food at the C-store any time he wants. The main problem is that he's leaving early, that should tell you off the bat.

When I was working in Ames, I brought my own lunch and stuck it in the fridge before work. You could let him start at 12:10? If so, that's plenty of time to get food (10 minutes is pushing it honestly).

What majors do you work with? Just curious

Yes until I couldn't get it right. I even watched the one with the decent looking blonde but that didn't help.

Channel flipping tonight and watched some of the 2nd Hobbit movie.

Random Thought Observation: Freckles is a way hotter elf than Daughter of Aerosmith. Just sayin'.
