Are you stalking my Facebook? Because I just posted the link to that like, an hour ago. The one I read said there was a crime and someone involved had the same first name and was in the exact same area, but the cops hadn't released a full name or said he was actually a suspect yet.

ok, so now the story on yahoo has disappeared so it looks like they're backtracking. He did lie about saving his nephew and was injured in a "fall" from an apartment building that had a burglary report at the same time. Apparently it's all "unclear" yet.

If I'm purchasing homebaked goods, it's usually for a bake sale in support of some cause, so you can expect an inflated cost. One of my pies auctioned off for $50 once...two bachelors fighting over a fresh peach pie. They ended up splitting the final price and sharing it...win win.
I really don't know what the going rate would be. Bear in mind if you're going to make a real business out of it there's licensing & marketing & health inspections, etc, so your costs go up exponentially, necessitating higher selling prices to break even/make a profit. If you're selling them to friends & acquaintances on a cash basis, I guess you would have to figure out what they're willing to pay.
I have been thinking about this for myself, and I think for piece of pie I would charge $3-$4 and probably about $15 for the whole pie.
