We had an interesting conversation at work today, if you had to lose a body part what would it be? You can't say finger, it would have to be the whole hand, but it could be a single kidney or ear. We came to a consensus pretty quickly but I am interested to see what you all think.
Does the ear include the hearing? If not, even though I'm a glasses wearer, I'd give up an ear all day.
I'd probably go with foot. I was going to say ear, but I know a dude with only one ear and it's not an attractive look. Then I was going to say left hand, but I play the guitar and I couldn't live without that. But I can't think of all too many things I couldn't do with a prosthetic foot that I can with a regular one. Few things, but nothing I can think of with major impact.
Yeah, I'm thinking foot too. If the ear was just cosmetic, I'd go for it...you could grow your hair out long, but if you lose the hearing too...that might tip it over to a foot just for the reasons you mentioned. I mean, the whole murder thing aside, that Pistorius dude ain't making it too bad for hisself, and he's missing like a bunch of his leg too.
Ear. Right ear. I don't hear out of it well anyway, and I can cover it with my hair or get a prosthetic.

The consensus was a testicle, have two so mostly cosmetic. There was no consensus from the women in the office.
