Is anyone here the type of person that goes out to eat with your significant other and you both sit on the same side of the table? And as a follow up question assuming someone answers yes, why are you so ******* weird?

You never know when a sitcom is gonna burst in and start filming. Gotta be ready.

I noticed when I lived in Texas that the man always sat facing the doors. It's not like that in California. Is that just a Texas thing?

I've lived in Iowa all my life and have to sit with my back to a wall preferably a corner facing the doors.
Don't know why I need the corner, just know that I get uncomfortable when trying to eat when people are walking behind me.

Is there a TV involved with a sporting event where there isn't a clear line of sight for the other person?

I thought every proper man in the midwest was taught that it's your job to keep an eye on things to protect your family in case something happens. Unless of course there's a good game on then you sit facing the TV and can be generally oblivious to your surroundings, including the family you are sitting with.

You never know when someone is going to sneak up behind you and slit your throat

Happy kitten on lap rolls over to expose belly for rub, starts slipping off lap. Stupid me...try to help, rewarded with all four claws sunk into the palm of my hand & ring finger as he tries to avoid falling off...
