When I was in Driver's Ed, some guy came to the classroom - I forget what he was there for, some maintenance guy or something random like that. He might have been there to talk about motorcycles. He started telling that urban myth about how he knew a couple who were killed when their car crashed and the seatbelts they were wearing decapitated them. The actual teacher's face was completely WTF. You could tell he wanted to tell the dude to get out. 16 year olds find enough ways to kill themselves. Don't tell them to stop wearing their seatbelts!

Don't know about the decapitation angle, but you know as well as I do that shoulder straps on seat belts are NOT designed with short people in mind. I could see the damn thing breaking my neck...if I didn't keep a bungie cord around it just above the buckle. That keeps the shoulder strap across my shoulder & chest, not across my neck. :)

BLT = Bacon, Lettuce, Toast 'round the 00clone house. But, that might change with CSA 'maters this year. Just can't do with with those mealy, smushy grocery store 'maters.

I hope we can have a garden next year so I can grow some at home!

Oh, and we put a bit of French dressing in with the mayo. Sounds weird but it's really good.

Most seatbelts are ok for me - must be that extra inch :jimlad: But I do get the occasionally one that's all in love with my neck.

You can just go with a booster seat like my 5 and 7 year olds. Should help you out.

a: Cowgirl, I'm probably rounder & more top heavy than you...that contributes to the placement of the strap.

b: If I sat in a booster seat, I wouldn't be able to reach the pedals.

c: I learned years ago to rack the seat back when I get OUT of the car. Saves on marital stress. However, if you're sitting in the seat behind me, protect your knees! It's automatic. Shift the car to park, turn off the ignition, rack the seat back. Always in that order. :)

d: Hold on, arob...I'm getting to you...

I just want to bang my head on a wall sometimes when I read about a fatal car accident, and the occupants weren't wearing seatbelts.

Wait...allow me...

Sunday night north of Omaha a couple drove off the road after a concert and both died. Neither had their seatbelt on. They had 7 kids from 3 -20 years old.

I put horseradish sauce on the toast. Not a lot, just enough to give it some zip - maybe a teaspoon, maybe slightly less. Then add the mayo and spread it all around together with the knife. (Horsey only on one slice.) Definite improvement of an already wonderful summer sandwich.
