Just another reason why I can say I've always enjoyed life post-college and never understood why people look back so fondly on it.
Just got from the Beach Boys show at Stephen's in Ames. Even some of their best days were well before I was born I got into them early. The first music album I can remember is getting Endless Summer on cassette for xmas when I was like 7 or 8 and I played the heck out of it. While Mike Love is the only original is this current version they had a projector that played videos and pictures from the original group from the early days.
Probably will go down as my favorite concert because unlike others I've been too about 80% of the songs I knew well.
There were a few ISU shots on the projector. Before Be True to Your School they showed shots of college cheerleaders. Illnois, Wisconsin were shown then ISU which got applause then a Hawk which got booos then ISU again before going to California colleges USC and UCLA. At the end of California girls the ISU cheerleader shot was shown again. After a non-Beach Boys song about spring they showed a picture of the Campanile.

Life is always getting better. If you keep looking back or saying those were the best days, you peaked at that time. Don’t be an early peaker. Stop looking on the rear view mirror.
Saw them a couple years ago at the Civic Center. My only regret was that Brian Wilson doesn't play with them anymore, although I think he and Mike Love finally buried the hatchet.
Most music savants agree that Pet Sounds was one of the most innovative, definitive albums of their time. Paul McCartney admitted that the Beatles created Sgt. Pepper as an homage to that album.
One of my favorite earworms is "God Only Knows".....I could listen to Carl croon that baby all day long.
Paramount TV now has a new show called Marriage Rescue where John Taffer (Bar Rescue) runs around saving marriages in 3 - 4 days. I assume he just shows up and yells at them a lot. Will he have "hidden" cameras in their home so he and his team of experts can observe?
We are truly in a "golden age" for entertainment. Of course when I say golden age I really mean hell.

They wanted to do my local bar, one reason was because two of the minority owners are identical twins and the producers never had that before and figured they could have conflict between the two. They both said no freaking way.Good Lord! As if he would have any redeeming value as a marriage counselor. If you read about his bar rescue stuff, he has a lot of it staged or they will show some waitress on her phone, but not tell you that it was a quick look and she didn't take a break during the shift. One guy said he was told to say certain things and they filmed that and he now has people on his case about those statements.
Probably wearing a Hawkeye shirt as well. How many times when you look at a person and think they have this look like they are only operating with three gears up stairs versus the normal 5-6, do they actually turn out to have stripped gears also? I think 99% of the time that a person appears to have a “slow” look, they are a little slower. Not talking those with special needs, just the perpetual general dazed and confused look.
There are days when you live in a large town and wish you lived in a small one and vice versa. Today, MSP seems attractive.
Need to park in a different spot. A few days ago I almost got my pickup stuck on the edge of a field. I covered it in mud so much that the white pickup almost looked black.
Too busy to wash it so it stayed that way, just washed glass so I could see. Rain washed most of the mud off and now it has a mud outline on the street of it
Chicks dig that. They'll think you're an off-road stud.
