I love oatmeal raisin too. Not giving up any food for Lent because I need to gain weight. I did find a nice Novena I am going to pray. Husband and two kids giving up chips/pretzels. One kid giving up coffee (glad he doesn't live at home without coffee, he will be grumpy). Oldest giving up beer. Another giving up video games.
Giving up something is not required for Catholics either other than following Lenten fast and abstinence practices.
Refuse to answer this in order to protect homestead from cookie monsters. I do wind up in Ottumwa quite a bit, but my grandparents lived there and it is a bit sentimental.

And we all have our vices. For some people, it's men/women, others it's tobacco or other drugs. For me, it's chewing ice
I read that, but I feel like I get enough iron through my diet. Plus, whenever I give blood, they say my iron content is good
Thanks to Birdy & Carvers, I've got a pan of Brownies cooling on top of the stove. All that baked goods talk convinced me to make up a batch.
Or is it something mom tells you to get you to stop chewing ice? I know my mom used to tell me that.
According to the Mayo Clinic, it actually is a sign of iron deficiency but they don't know why.
Going to come out of the closet and admit that I chew ice. Haven't died yet. My iron is fine.
But not dry ice like Solomon Young.
Sound like a little ice chewing would take care of all of this.
I'm not a parent, but if I were I'd probably prefer my kid chew ice as opposed to about 95% of the garbage kids eat.
