What do you guys do during not tax season? I imagine the blockbuster from South park.

May-September: not a whole lot. Sit around and get paid for it.

October-November: recruit, hire, train

December: recruit, hire, train, kiosk setups, select stores open for preseason advance product.

person schedules 8:30am meeting that they should have been part of because we needed to tell them hey don't do X again next time..........person doesn't show.

The heat isn't working in my ghetto store location. The building is owned by the city, so of course it took them four days just to respond to set something up for a heat guy to come out. Met him at 7am today and he can't even access the unit from my store. Needs to get into the store next door. Which of course is empty. So the city needs to come out to let him in. Hopefully this will be fixed before March.
Then the AC will go out

FIL flew in last Thursday from Arizona. It was 74 when he left AZ and within 60 hours in was -23. On Saturday, after basketball, my family, the BIL's family and FIL decided to stop at Total Wine (giant liquor store) to pick up stuff for Christmas. My 10-year-old was pushing around the BIL's 2-year-old in the cart. He kept tipping back his head, holding his thumb just above his mouth and repeated glug, glug, glug, glug..... Being that I'm an uncle in this case, I was encouraging it.

Sent out resume Dec 4 with the holidays coming up do I let it go till after New Years or should I drop an email asking about the hiring time frame? When we talked it seemed like they were interested in meeting to discuss the position. Realistically the position doesn't need to filled till late Feb/March. Started to type up follow up letter than thought I'd ask RTT.

I would just respond with a basic, with the holidays happening, just making sure you got it, response. You don't want to be pushy but stay in front and let them know you are interested in it.

That is kind of what I was thinking, I know they received it because I asked for a reply. I was just going to ask about what type of hiring time frame, just to let them know I was still interested.

I have spent the last three work days researching procedures for a unique group. I pity anyone who has to spend time reading CFRs. The final product was 10 pages long and more than half of that was definitions. Waiting for my supervisor and legal to get back to me so I can reach out to the group and see where they think they stand within the title that applies to them. I am guessing they are under the wrong assumption and will not be happy. My old job was nice, there was almost always legal precedent for what we were doing.

Does he tell you to meet somewhere to drink kool-aid and jump on a comets tail?

Nope. Today's tweet was "Shots fired". Which I am 99.9% sure is referring to someone who works part time for ISU athletics subtweeting Tommy Birch's tweet about a womens player being done with her career due to an injury that was announced yesterday after the game but the Register cover the game. Tommy responded back that he could have just come to him or his editor with the complaint.
