Random Thoughts IV

Thanks for the tips. I was hoping to get back out to Colorado since we know someone that would let us use their condo for cheap. The only thing my wife would really care about there though is going on a horseback ride which we can't do with the little guy.

So now we are trying to come up with ideas that won't break the bank and would be easy to do just the three of us.

Went out tonight and key some new females. That was nice.

Is that serial killer code or something? Or is key another word for sex?

Those of you with kids. Did you go on a vacation when your kids were in the 1-3 age range? If so where did you go and what did you do?

That's a rough age for anything major. You have to deal with learning to walk, teeth coming in, tons of diaper changes or potty training, naps, and overall impatience. Not to mention you end up packing more stuff for the kid than you do for two grown adults.

The real question is "Is the vacation for you and your wife or the child?" If you two need to get away, I'd do a fairly close trip with a variety of things to do and flexibility when stuff goes wrong. If it's for the child, remember that kids don't care about what city or country they are in as long as they are mentally stimulated. Pools, playgrounds, bounce houses can be found anywhere.

Most of my trips we did when my daughter was 1-3 were to visit relatives or come to Ames for games. My daughter did great in long car rides, but we'd still try to do most of our driving around naps or bedtimes just in case she decided to change her ways.

Since my previous post has probably dissuaded you, please let me know more about this condo in Colorado

Haha it is in Estes Park and is owned by someone my mom used to work with. They don't really charge anything but my parents have always paid $60/night. All they ask is you fix anything that is broken and clean it all when you leave.

Same here...and to throw in some babies stuff...really looking forward to the (very soon) day that our garbage doesn't stink to high heaven from diapers.
That's right. When we had to deal with diapers in the summer garbage day was, maybe, the best day of the week.

I mean, thankfully, I set it out when I get home from work on Thursday night, so it's usually pretty cool in the garage, but it'll still take a guy down if you get a good whiff.

We are going to see a comedian named Tom Papa at a comedy club on Friday. We just went to see him about a year ago and he was very funny. Anybody frequent comedy clubs enough to know if his act will have changed significantly?

The photo thread crashes my 45 year old phone.

I think some folks do not resize their photos for internet posting. I always edit them down. You get a thread full of 5 MB photos and it's going to bog down (especially CF).

Or does CF resize/downsize images uploaded from computers?

Yeah, the photo thread is not mobile device friendly, that's for sure.

People need to delete the photos from the replies...the message still gets across, but the repeated pics really slow it down.

I already had to endure 45 straight minutes of ridicule from Nickels last night about my old phone.

I SHOULD upgrade, but the more I feel that way, the more I dig in my heels.
