A message board dedicated to a bunch of roided up dudes measuring their dicks all the time? If it was going to happen anywhere, that would probably be one of the first places id guess.

I would've guessed 4chan

So I'm hearing there was a child who got a hold of an unsecured firearm and shot and killed them-self in my town this morning.

Anything I want to type will send this to the cave.

I'll stick with "This is a tragic story. This should never happen. I feel bad for the family and friends for having to deal with this premature loss of life."

Yes and yes. Not sure if it's even true, since my info came from facebook. But if it is, yes it is tragic. Probably a family I know too.

For a happier note...I took the kids to daycare this morning since we got home late and Mrs. had to get going to work. Then, ran a few errands, and picked der hund up at the kennel. On the way home, had to drive past the daycare, and looked to see if they were outside. Littlest00's class was outside, and got to see him running around having a good old time...he didn't even see me, but I got to see him really happy...which made me happy.

00, that is one of the cooler parental things to observe. I've always said that I'd love to be able to observe my daughter for a day without her knowing it. Like in a "Being John Malkovich" kinda way.

Why weren't u working? Do u work nights?

Me? Yeah. Mrs. 00 works part time, so kiddos go to daycare on the days she works all day (M, TH), and those are the days I'm home alone in the morning...I focus on getting things done around here...laundry, cooking, cleaning, etc. so we don't have to do it when we're both here with the kids (Tu, F). Bonus is that she only works in the afternoon on Wednesday, but kiddos are in school all day, so we get some time to ourselves. It's worked pretty well so far for us, but that'll change drastically when little00 starts kindergarten in a few weeks...then I will only see little00 for a few minutes in the morning. Thinking I'll try and get some quality time with littlest00 to make up for it, but I think it'll still stink.

00-I have quickly learned that there is nothing as awesome and heart warming as seeing your child smile and be happy.

We went to visit the brother-in-law on Ottertail Lake this weekend. I highly recommend visiting this area if you have a chance. It is a large lake with very little boat traffic, great walleye fishing and a small-town feel to the whole area. Most of the resorts are still family-owned. This is a very underutilized lake region of Minnesota and, because of this, the area is extremely relaxing.

Still, there are enough small-town bars to keep things interesting and a Zorbaz which means great Mexican pizza and a decent beer selection.

Pantsy - saw this & you were the first person I thought of... :)

I can't tell you how many times that's been sent to me, and I laugh every time. I just wish I could teach Riley to do it. I don't think he's in good enough shape to.

I feel like we have? If us RTers are good for anything, it's that we can generally talk respectfully about controversial things without getting in the cave.
All right. If we are going to prosecute someone who owns a gun that a kid shoots himself with as if the owner intentionally shot the kid then we should prosecute the person who leaves the handle out on a pan of water or grease on the stove as if they intentionally threw it on the kid who reaches up and dumps it on himself.

There should be accountability but accountability within reason. I know it is an emotional issue, but let's keep our heads about ourselves.

I mean, I think both sides of the aisle would promote the safety and responsibilities of gun ownership. It's a pretty bi-partisan ideology.
