If I were all sniffly and sneezy they might care, but I'm not. Not like I can stay home for 6 work days with a cold. At least my voice is back enough now so I can mostly talk.

Sorry I didn't know you had improved and when I hear cold those are the symptoms I think of.

this one has been weird in that my nose has not joined the party. No real sniffly/congestion stuff. It's mostly nighttime coughing/throat/lung crap. I did like 30 minutes of chores yesterday and took a two hour nap because it wore me out. Probably didn't help that I hadn't been sleeping great all week. The sore throat (which I think was from coughing) finally went away yesterday or I was going to go to the dr for sure today. If I can sleep most of the night tonight, then I'm probably fine but I was mostly getting concerned that it was more than just a cold since it's drug on for so long.

Just getting frustrating but dr. Google says no fever, no white patches, no sinus pain, no shortness of breath - let it run 10-14 days and today is day 8.

Sounds like the Black Lung.

Well a little late but Sun. supper was steak and sweet corn w/ cantaloupe for desert. So Pants does this flooding thing mean move your car to high ground for a day or two?

The smartest gal in the 1997 big flood in Grand Forks was the one student apartment dweller who loaded everything she could into her car and parked in the upper floors of a parking ramp. Remember seeing all of these pictures of totaled cars, like the one vintage Corvette, whose owners could have done the same thing. Grand Forks is flat as a pancake but parking ramps are "high ground".

I think my MIL has been in Arizona too long. Lived in Iowa 50-some years, but 5-10 years out there, she's looking out our back window this morning, making small talk while little00 finished his breakfast..."Wow, you have such a nice lawn...so green...but...how often do you have to water it?" Me: "never" Her: "yeah, but when's the last time you got rain?" Me: "Last week...there was flash flooding...not here, but in Iowa."

But how cheap is your "hired help" for mowing?

I could take my car up into a garage (for a cost) but I don't THINK we're going to get that bad of flooding with this one. It'll still hit Maui and break up a bit. The only problem will be if it blows right through Maui, because then Honolulu is smack dab in the line.

In all likelihood, it'll probably amount to nothing but a little rain like they usually do.

I'm envisioning cockroaches on tiny surfboards

But what if it does amount to something and suddenly there are flying sharks everywhere? Better get your light saber chainsaw ready just in case.

Naw, naw...that's a sharknado...the worst pants could see with this is a sharkicane, which is readily handled by the locals, who are knowledgeable about such things.

Probably worse for me. In Hawaiian cultures, ancestor spirits are represented by sharks, so you know they be coming after us haoles in a Sharkicane.

Oh...well...then...uhh...nice knowing you, sorry about the shark thing. I'll send a Mr. Bill toy to Boxster in order to help soften the transition for the little guy.
