not quite, but I did go to bed. So many newbies! And I have yet to hear a first time expectant parent say, "yeah, I'm totally chill about it. Not worried at all, we're just going to wing it". Seems like terrified is the status quo.

After raising 4 kids we would have several key pieces of advice for you but why spoil all the fun you can have learning yourself. The time to worry is when you are not worried.

I've purchased two pairs of real Oakley sunglasses from that site, $50 each. Otherwise my cheap sunglasses come from target.
I figured Target would have them but I didn't see any sunglasses there. I'm sure they're there.

I can always use that cookie cutter for another purpose now. Anyone need some "FU" cookies, literally Birdy style? :)

Would like a delayed order, in black and gold, to send to my hok siblings. :)

So you'd be giving someone the (Cy)Birdy?

KC...so glad your stepbrother & co. are able to take care of things. Is there something they can do where your dad doesn't have firing power of the caregivers?

And right now, I'm craving eggs/egg salad. Yet I'm at work for another...2ish hours probably? Drat.

All of my sunglasses come from Target. I lose them WAY too often to pay a bunch of money on them. I currently know specifically of a pair locked in storage shed in Kauai and a pair sitting on a rock in a lava field in the Big Island.

Sara, did you get another job? I remember you saying something about cover letters.

Ugh. I was attempting. I was wrestling with that cover letter, and by the time I was ready with it, the job had been pulled off-line.

Still checking to see if it will "magically" re-appear online.

Was this going to be job number 4 or was this to replace one or two of the others?

Where are they?! I know I should have asked someone but I didn't.

Mental note to never gift you nice sunglasses, in case of a move to Hawaii.

That's what they will be working on. Right now, he still has access to the joint account. They have his, hers & theirs...they each transfer money into the joint account to cover joint bills (house, electric, water, etc). That's where a large part of the prob is...he was in charge of paying the bills, he wrote checks but didn't transfer money to cover them...then blamed her. He can't focus on paperwork long enough to figure out how much to pay, and to whom. His wife has to be the one to remove his access, which is what my stepbrother will be trying to accomplish.

As for the "firing", early on when both were having health issues but not mental issues, they fired a number of home health care workers, insisting that they could do everything for themselves (when it was apparent to the rest of us that they really couldn't).

Recently, Daddy has "fired" several, but firing wasn't as much of a problem as failing to pay them...or paying them with rubber checks...

The ones in Target. I'm gonna go back and look after lunch.

Depending on what use you have for them, you can also find sunglasses in the sporting section (usu near the bicycles). I like wraparounds with a stronger UV filter...I buy mine from the "biking" collection.

They're not super stylish, but they're very functional!

I am partly with Pants on the glasses. Back in the day I always went the ZZ Top route. Than went nicer and of course lost them all the time. The only long surviving ones are a really nice pair of Smith optics a friend who rep'd sports stuff gave me years ago. Still have them but also keep a pair of cheaper stuff in each car and a light tinted cheap pair for the bike.

BTW, if you found a couple pair of nice Vuarnet's (back when Vuarnets were ) just lying around in the Twin Cities somewhere 20 years ago they are mine. Please return them.

guys, DH and I are empty-nesters now. Got to the house and parents were being all chirpy and we could hear, but not see one of the youth (nest was empty). Thought maybe it was on top of the open garage door, nope. Then I saw the big trash barrels sitting there and though I wonder.....go pull at a box and FLAP FLAP FLAP CHIRP SQUAWK ANGRY PARENTS. Little fellow was stuck in the barrel. Got him out to the outside and he hopped a couple times like what is this world? And then flew off with parents to the neighbors. DH and I stood and watched our last child leave the nest.

All out into the world now!

So, if someone gives you a rep and includes a message with it saying you are an idiot you still get the rep points, mirite? Guess my ignore list is plus 1.
