And a drawbridge.

One person who lives a couple blocks away from me has something that looks like a castle tower in the back of his house, I think it's even connected to the house. Thing has to be 50-60 ft tall.

Haven't been around the last couple of days and didn't catch up today.

RT: Someone mentioned that they went to a class while on vacation and did 64 burpes and then told their fellow instructors that. The noon class had sets of 10 throughout. I think I did all except 20 before I had to leave.

I'm hangry, tired, and have been told they'll be back after 4pm today to start, and then be back in the morning to finish grading.

Then do everything else Monday and "hopefully the bank is ok with that".

and I feel like an awful little princess because I just want to sleep tomorrow and I'm sure it'd go over real well if I'm like you better not show up before 9am. Or "we won't be done by Monday then". Too bad. The project manager has known when we need to be done. And even if they didn't tell you, I told you yesterday via very pointed email that work needed to be completed by Monday. And nothing happened yesterday and basically nothing is happening today. I don't care if you have to work until midnight Saturday. Just don't show up until I want to be awake.

I don't know anything about the process. Do they have to be done before you close so the bank knows that the job is done?

yes, which is why we are in this situation. Apparently, sometimes a bank will let you complete things like outside concrete and landscape after you close (think winter builds). They put money into escrow or something for work to be completed after closing. This is very common with our builder as they have just done 7 driveways and landscaping and I believe all those houses closed already. Because that is when they could get everyone scheduled. It's very common in the industry from what I can tell.

But they did not check with our bank first. So back in early June, I got curious and talked to our bank (actually she emailed about setting up the appraisal) that opened a can of worms as we realized our builder had assumed they could do the escrow thing. Well Fannie Mae only allows that for winter months and June is not a winter month. Builder hadn't encountered that before. Not sure if it's a newer regulation or what. So we had to get our close extended from mid-June to next week. Bank graciously did not charge us for that. This is after we had been told we could be done early June if they pushed. They didn't push (which was fine at the time) and then had to scramble to be done when we wanted to start moving things in a couple days before our official move.

I told them last week that the bank was doing the appraisal the 10th or 13th. They asked for 13th to be safe, but said they'd be done the 10th. I am still thinking I should have told them it was today. Thank God the banker moved it to Tuesday now. I'm not telling anyone! If we don't close next Saturday, our interest rate goes from 3.625 to just over 4.

I should say that I still like our builder. Our project manager is genuinely nice and capable and I think the work they have done is excellent. They've never been shady with us and we stayed under budget as they promised. They had been expecting to have a couple houses to close around our time and then had two spec houses go as well - think they ended up with about 6 total so it's been insanely busy for them the past few weeks too. And I feel like that plus the escrow assumption is where things went a bit sideways. I would honestly still recommend them but with the caveat that you cannot be patient about your deadlines. You need to stay on them about that. And make sure everyone understands what the loanholder's policy on escrow work is, I guess!

I suppose I could just drink enough at the party tonight to sleep through the noise in the morning.......but if I fail on the still being asleep part.............that would not be fun to deal with hungover!:jimlad:

I feel SO princessy for being like I want my sleep! I know people are sleep-deprived all the time. I am dragging because I never caught up from the 4 hours on Monday. It's been barely 6 since then and I know people do that all the time and I'm not like dying or anything, but I was really, really looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow. I have a 10am baby shower an hour away on Sunday to get to.

I will say the whole thing has been good for managerial experience, pants. I'm not going to be nearly as accommodating and patient going forward. I can still be a nice person, but ******* get **** done. Can't be as concerned with people thinking I'm mean or pushy. Need to be pleasantly firm.

Interesting. I had never heard of it and my dad sent me his employers profile. The reviews from an employee and someone that interviewed are sadly quite accurate

someone just gave ours a scathing review and I'm desperately curious as to who it was. I didn't agree with most of the review so I'm like hmmmmmmmm someone get a bad yearly review?

You've got to take these things with a grain of salt. They can be accurate, but most times, when you see reviews on there, it's either going to be from people that are angry (got fired, just quit, etc.) or someone that's getting paid to make their company look good on there. It's kind of like Yelp reviews. You've got to sort through the garbage to find the true reviews.

You count the hours you need to catch up on sleep? Hell, I think I'd need to sleep about 4 straight months just to do that.

That is what I was expecting but at least for his emoyer they are perfectly accurate. Sadly that is not good.
