was this your wife's brother or future spouse of your sibling? If he has his own male siblings or close friends, that's on them. If you know any of those people, can always shoot them a text to see if they are just slow about getting word out.

IDK, to me, the bachelor party is the territory of the best man with the groom's involvement. Hipster prolly thinks bachelor parties are too mainstream.
