Outdoor summer weddings should be banned.

Speaking of such if those of you that were in RT3 for my story telling of my sister in-laws upcoming hipster wedding. Her fiancé is a big fitness guy and normally only eats or drinks protein shakes. So today I made fun of him for not eating burgers or brats that we had. Apparently I struck a nerve with that.

Gotta get in here before it gets to a thousand posts!

2015! Back from his post-graduation drunken stupor! (I keed I keed) Are you in Texas yet?

BTW, Jurassic Park on multiple cable channels right now. Had a special into with Spielberg, and he teased there would be sneak peeks of Jurassic World.

If it's it anything like yesterday on NBC it might be awhile. It was a 3 hour block and they didn't show anything for the first 2 hours. I stopped watching after that point.

Ah yes, it was quite the stupor. Went to Minneapolis, Madison, Cedar Rapids, Peoria, Chicago, Cleveland/Akron, Cedar Point, and back to Ames in like 11 days. Then 7 days later I came down to Dallas and moved in! Been here since Sunday. Got a good deal on a mattress that was delivered today so no more sleeping on the couch! Got a bed at Ikea too that I like. Nothing else is setup :spinny:

Welcome to DFW!

By the way, you wouldn't happen to drive a gold colored Camry, do you? I had one cut me off today while in Arlington and, as he passed me, I noticed an ISU sticker.

Then on the way home, I saw a black pickup truck with a ******* Hawkeyes sticker. :realmad:

I think I could probably make that face at the end of all my stories.

Nope not me. I drive a White SUV and don't have an ISU sticker. But thank you! Dallas is great

Yes, Dallas is awesome and such a huge city with so much to do and a lot to explore. It also helps to have OKC, San Antonio, Austin, and Houston within driving distance. Now just make sure to become a huge Mavericks, Cowboys, Stars, and Rangers fan and your assimilation will be complete.

There is a pretty large group of ISU grads in DFW, but also quite a bit of Hawkeye fans. Make sure to attend the TCU games when ISU comes to town and you'll see many of them. Games in Norman, Stillwater, Waco, and Austin are also not very far for when the Clones come down.

I'm going to try and make that my go to when someone says something skeptical in this thread.
Royalties...

But seriously, that damn bug landed on the back of my neck, I brushed it off, and I could still hear it buzzing following me as I was running away. Not much help from my son. He was just laughing his head off.

500 worked great. Then again we barely had a son while we were down there.

Closer is a little better with kids (within reason). A little over an hour drive works well for us...

They're close enough that we see them regularly,
but they're far enough away that they don't drop by unannounced
But they're close enough that a visit doesn't include an overnight stay by default

They're close enough that if we have something going on for more than a few hours, they're a viable option for watching them
But far enough away that this option is used rarely enough that Grams and Gramps still cherish the time, they don't feel burdened.
They're close enough to come to the important, but not that important events (First tee-ball game, pre-school graduation)
But far enough away that they're not constantly there for everything (the rest of the T-ball games)
