Oh, okay. I thought you were saying that records of individual slaves was difficult to find...like birth certificates, marriage records, etc. I was like...yeah, I actually can understand that, they were treated as property, not people. I'd think you'd be more likely to find transactional documents like bills of sale or the like than person records.
But, yeah, stated that way...derrrp.
I have heard veterans say they think celebrating Memorial Day by spending time with family & friends, grilling, camping, etc. is exactly how those who died in service would want us to spend the time.
I read it that way too. I was like but wouldn't it be hard? Like trying to track documents about animals from the same time period, since that's essentially how they would have been handled.
I dress much nicer now than I used to. Not because I care too much about what others think, but I guess I take pride in looking nice and wearing nice-fitting things. I don't follow too many trends but I also discovered that buying cheap shirts meant I was buying cheap shirts again in six months. I'm much more willing to drop $$ on a nice piece of clothing now.
How is that book, I thought about reading it after a 60 Minute story featuring the author.
I'm kinda mind-drained after today and we gotta get going tomorrow. And Sunday. And probably Monday too. Blah. Well, at least they can't show the apartment on Monday this week.
Oh, and now that CG and 55 are both here...damn, you got me in trouble, I think. The leggings/yoga pants suggestions you gave me. I was not going to say anything because I'm not going to push yoga pants on her anymore and give her a complex. However, I was joking about it with her that alla sudden you guys started giving me all sorts of advice on them...that was the other day after that discussion.
So today, we're at Target and she mentions that she should get another black pair because she can't find her VS black pair.
Well, tonight, I remembered the mention of 6PM.com, so I just e-mailed her quick and said "Cowgirl and the new girl say 6PM.com and Nike 2.0 for leggings/yoga pants"
She comes back with "Good to know where your online girlfriends get their clothes"
So today, we're at Target and she mentions that she should get another black pair because she can't find her VS black pair.

good grief, that family member of DH's I constantly complain about? The ones who couldn't afford free water or people to do the dishes at their wedding? And went on government aid to pay for their planned child? They had bought a new vehicle in 2011. They bought a (cheap) house last fall. They have now bought a brand new SUV that is easily $30k. I just cannot understand how they have two dollars to their names. I'm would bet a lot of money that DH alone makes more than both of them and we wouldn't even entertain the thought of a $30k vehicle right now. Maybe we are just tightwads but I'm just like you must be mortgaged to the hilt.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahah, I'm sorry 00! And it's the Nike leggings with the blue label. When I was at ****'s they had a similarly named one with an orange label and it was like whipped frosting when you wanted buttercream. Just not even the same.
end of June! closing sooner than that but weddings mean we can't move until the end of the month. Also means I should pack but......I haven't really. So much stuff is in closets that I don't want to pull it out to put into boxes and then set them in the room and make it even messier.
I'd never heard of it until I was looking at Barnes and Noble today. I'm big into psychology and this was in that section and caught my eyes. I've only got at 6 chapters done, and it's still kind of in the introductory phase still, but it hasn't been a bad read.
