I'm afraid so...but I don't say that based on all the traffic on here, because in some cases, a message board can become an echo chamber where if the same things are said enough times, they start to be seen as already true, but I say it because for me, when Chris, Brent, and JP all either had columns about it, or made comments regarding it, there's a 'there' there for me. However, at this point, I'm still seeing it as 'it's a possibility' not a certainty...who knows, maybe the back channel stuff is already complete, but we won't know that until the folks want us to know, methinks.

yeah I thought it was just the normal pants-******* but now it's all over the sports world. I certainly hope he stays. Or decides the job isn't that great after a wee little bit and returns. Though by then we may have a good system going. I think we have great players and great assistants in the program. The house of cards may not rest as heavily on Fred now as it did in the past. Which would be good.

I think I'd just be disappointed. The man has the right to do whatever he wants to better himself and his family. I just would have thought he'd have been here longer than 5 years before jumping ship, being all of the feel good stories and such about him being here.

This is I what I call barbecue. Always have. Everyone in my family does too.

I didn't even grow up in America and I know you're wrong. You should be embarrased.

My thoughts as well. He has the ball rolling here and the NBA will always be there. Not to mention if it doesn't work out...

Yeah, but...

(full disclosure, I am not an NBA guy, I watch approximately .3 NBA games a year, and my only info comes from here so take that into account)

Fred also maybe knows that while NBA coaching jobs are always out there, one that's still pretty close to home, working for a friend, with a decent roster aren't that plentiful. He may not want to leave now, but the things that are aligned to make this an opportunity to be 'his best shot' maybe are forcing his hand.

Again, I'm really not an NBA guy, but listening to things around here, that's what I'm thinking maybe.

yeah, pretty much the same here. I can also see the heart thing making it be like, you know what? I may not be able to coach forever, let's take this shot at this (super high stress, longer season, more pressure, more divas) job because it may not happen again.

So that thought may have gone a bit off-tangent........

That's true multiculturalism there, when GTO and this pasty white boy can come together to tell Chaser he's wrong.

I'd offer a hug on this momentous occasion for humanity, but I'm not sure how that goes over in your culture.
