Hey, Velo, if it sneaks above 65 I am going to run out of excuses not to go ride da lakes. I have sorta wimpy temp and wind thresholds that need to generally be met.
There are a few posters that I can talk with just fine anywhere outside of the political threads and vice versa. I have to use a mental firewall or go crazy...
Who went off the deep end?
Mrs. Velo and I should come down and ride them with you. Only problem is we might be a wee fast without the kids and you would get bored at the slow speed with the kids. I might be way off base but I thought you posted riding about 13 at one point(?)
I am trying to set up some alumni rides here but the problem is exactly what you said regarding speed. Riding with none compatible speeds is not easy. Thought about alumni rides, family friendly and long faster ones for real road bikers. I ride 14 or 15 mph on nice flats stretches, slow by road biker standards but I'm old and built like a 10k runner, not a biker. Plus my old Bianchi hybrid ain't exactly a quick bike.
I lead an alumni ride in 2011. Started in Hopkins and road to the city lakes and back. Pace was pretty slow and I had some difficulty riding so slow. I was kinda shocked how slow some of the people road. I thought I was slow.
Wish I had a designated driver for tonight. Instead, I'm driving.

UBER?Wish I had a designated driver for tonight. Instead, I'm driving.

I average right about 15 on my commute - if I ever start doing it again - but that includes stopping for lights, etc. You aren't far off and we could probably ride together pretty well. Sorry I misremembered.
Some of those rides you just need to encourage people to ride in groups of similar level and layout in advance stops where the group can come back together - othewise nobody is happy. I have gone on an Ames Bike World evening ride a couple of times. Those guys pretty much all race and they blew me out of the water.
Wut?
seems like now and then we get one of those people off their meds float through.

It's not a conspiracy. The twin towers fell because of controlled demolition.I know it is the Random Thoughts thread, but sheesh.
I fear it has something to do with Twin Towers conspiracy theories.
