Hoping the rain stays away tonight. I won some tickets to the Frisco Roughriders baseball game. All you can eat and drink (including beer).

so my rings came apart today, as in I've noticed the solder thing seeming to get weak and then they came apart going into the movie today. I was already planning on taking them in to get it looked at. She's like "have you noticed it getting bigger on your finger at all"

I'm like yeah, sometimes in the winter if I throw my hand hard enough, the ring comes off. Turns out that can put different pressure on it/moves around more easily. And that's not really good for it.

so NSV from working out....my ring size has gone down 1.5 sizes. So now it's getting resized as well.

So about a 5.5 now?

CG, did you say what movie you went to?

I am glad that the rings didn't get lost. I had one ring break while at an event. I was paranoid about where I had zipped it up to make sure it was still there.

DH wanted to go to Avengers for a late birthday thing, so we did that today. It was pretty good, I thought.

The rings themselves weren't broken, the part where they were soldered together just...came apart, so instead of being attached, they were separate again. I did have to keep checking and playing with them though!

oh, and the movie theater is brand new and super fancy. Like recliner chairs, you can order food in the movie, cocktail lounge, it's ridiculous. But the chairs were suuuuuuper comfy and it was nice to have them laid back.

Now if I could do that on an airplane for less than an arm and a leg!

That's how many a folk have come to the RT crew. It's a fallout shelter at times.

RT is my shelter from the storm. My free association brain demanded I post this. Pants and you expect me to go all old school.

Pics or it didn't happen.

:jimlad:

I can't take off my ring, as I have big joints. Once the ring gets past the knuckles, it's not coming back out. It's a bit loose where it sits, but can't get past the knuckles now.

see that's what I didn't want to have happen. We got down to a five and she said I still had a bit of room but with two it would be snug. So we went back up a bit. I really dislike the idea of them not coming off easily.

My wedding ring used to get loose whenever my hands got cold. I always thought I should probably get it resized but never got around to it. To make a long story short I lost it at work in the compactor and spent a day trying to find it. Bless her heart, Mrs. Velo finally asked me, "At what point do you just say it is gone?" Let's just say I will always make sure my replacement fits properly from now on.

Also, a good reminder that if you are doing anything that a ring may cause a hazard, make sure you don't wear it. I know of two guys who lost their finger due to a ring (jumping off a hayrack, ring and finger decided to stay on; ring and finger got caught in basketball net) and another guy that almost welded his ring to an electrical panel. Your spouse wants you to come home in one piece more than they want you to always wear your ring!

oh yeah, my dad never wears his at home.

Nothing that a small proximal silicon implant couldn't fix.

Or start working those interosseous and lumbrical muscles. Popping tops off of cans of beers is a good workout for them. 12 reps, repeat.

Hate it when a poster I used to like goes full ******. I guess even good posters have bad days.

There are a few posters that I can talk with just fine anywhere outside of the political threads and vice versa. I have to use a mental firewall or go crazy...

Who went off the deep end?

I'm sorry that I have failed you.

Hey, Velo, if it sneaks above 65 I am going to run out of excuses not to go ride da lakes. I have sorta wimpy temp and wind thresholds that need to generally be met.
