Yesterday I typed in a thread about Cole Haan shoes. I did not search for them online nor go to any shoes-store websites. This morning 4 of the ads I've seen have been for Cole Haan shoes. I knew the interest kept track of what you wrote but that is plain creepy. Not creepy in a funny or odd way, but really creepy/

So, you type about something and you start seeing a bunch pics of that on the sidebars?

after two people went AWOL on me trying to install their POS program.......they tell a coworker it's because our computers can't handle it. BS but whatever. So we ask for what we need to have it work. Instead of telling us, third person is now trying to install POS program on my computer. THIS DOESN'T WORK, YOUR PEOPLE SAID IT WON'T WORK STOP TRYING TO TAKE UP HOURS OF MY DAY AND JUST ANSWER MY QUESTION!

mad cow over here.

I feel ya. I have a grad student writing a comprehensive program for me...hired by my boss, directed by my boss...and neither of them have any idea of all of the parts that comprise the whole, and they're not talking to me about what I do and how I do it. My boss can't even explain the report format to clients...

So he's going to write a program that generates all of my various types of reports and billings without talking to me? Okayyyyyyyy. Now I find out that they had to buy a new computer for him to use, and he's writing it to work on those freaking huge double-wide monitors (I have a single, medium-sized flatscreen). More money to spend. Yay.

Not generally a proponent of the death penalty, but I have my hot buttons:

Similar situation my fiance heard about through work. Two parents were arrested for cooking meth in their house and had their kid taken away. They tested the kids blood and they had 14,000 parts per million of meth. A junkie tests at about 3,000 ppm.

4 year old weighed well over 50 pounds. He was eating constantly because his metabolism was all messed up.

writing a program for someone without talking to them and knowing how their current process works and what would be most useful is always a solid strategy for success.

yeah. And I'm the one who will get to figure out how to apply it. :)

btw - didn't mean to one-up you there...I was commiserating, but in light of the "posting behaviors" thread, I'm getting a little nervous!

You think that's bad? You should see some of the yahoos I work with!

KC thumbed up this post?

So after we got all packed and stuff...the next most important thing to Mrs. 00clone was....vacuuming. Seriously, vacuuming? She likes coming home to a clean house, and apparently the tracks in the carpet indicate a clean floor.

For all you unmarried guys out there...don't even try and figure women out, just enjoy them as they are.

BTW, KC...if you are accused of being a one-upper....I'd advise you not to self-identify as a 'topper'. Just some friendly advice.

Yes. That post made me laugh. I don't have a stick up MY butt. ;)

I always use the term "one-up". I've never referred to someone as a "topper". Don't know what it means in your vernacular, but I suspect it's nothing I want to be. :)

OK, I thought maybe you meant to hit the one after it.

Technically, I'm not sure you could be a topper, except maybe with some ancillary equipment.

So, watching a Smithsonian channel show about Leadbelly. I claim mercy due to my age, but I'm amazed by how many 'famous' songs by other people are actually Leadbelly songs, or had also been done by leadbelly...

Midnight Special
House of the Rising Sun
Black Betty
Where did you Sleep Last Night

I'm sure there's more, that's just what I got looking thru the playlist of the Smithsonian collection.

Wasn't Where Did You Sleep Last Night an old old old song that Lead Belly changed up and kinda re-wrote and then Nirvana based it off of Lead Belly?

EDIT: I looked up the Unplugged Video of Nirvana. Cobain even mentions Lead Belly saying it was his favorite performer
