Catching up:

1. If you want to shame Ring, I did two kickboxing workouts on Friday and I am hoping to run around 8.

2. I hope Wxman and family got packed okay and their newborn slept a lot so they didn't have to stop a lot (either packing or traveling).

3. KC, it is a different person. My friend's name starts with G.

4. Z always does cute stuff! We went egg hunting today, well really learning to pick them up and put in a basket.

5. We also have the mini-big wheel now!! She can't quite reach the pedals yet, but she can sit and walk it!!!

6. Her cousins taught her ring around the rosie. Lots of laughing and fun.

But Michigan State didn't beat Iowa State. That's what you have to do to be national champion.

Went to buy a car today in DSM. It was busy so we killed time by window shopping. Long story short no one offered to help us. Another car pulls up into an empty spot next to us and another couple gets out and salesman walks right up to them. The man says "they were here first." The salemans looks at us disgustingly and continues talking to the new people. So we got.in our car and left.

Had loan in hand and car picked out. Now we will look elsewhere.

Am I overreacting?

Absolutely not.

Had basically the same thing happen when the fiancee and I went engagement ring shopping. When people that entered the store after us got helped first, even though they said something about it, we walked out. And that was for a ring.

A car is probably the second biggest investment you make.

My wife's late-model car we drove in with was the same brand we were buying for me. I always dress well for a casual saturday. Its not like we were looking at a new Audi. This was something we obviously could afford and wanted based on what we drove up.

Problem is there are few of this model in DSM. So either we forgeg about it or find another model.

Not at all. Sucker don't want no business, sucker don't get no business.
If they don't care to make a sale, that's their problem, not yours.
If you spend another second wondering, you're doing it wrong.

Just have to decide what it's worth to you. If you really want this specific model, is it worth dealing with them?

There's a chance we end up back in the store we walked out of, because they're the store so far that has been able to fit our price range. If we do end up back there, we plan, in a very respectful manner, to let them be aware of our dissatisfaction about how we were treated last time.

Seems like a good time to quote the first post...

It can't be contained.

No outlawed discussion, please.

The rules, per Chris:

It’s time that we update our site rules here at CycloneFanatic.com. I’m going to try to keep this as simple as possible. Please take a few minutes to go over this.

#1 – Always be respectful – Essentially, don’t be a jerk. We aren’t telling you to not disagree or argue with another poster. After all, this is a message board. But please, do it in a respectful manner.

#2 – This is a very large website. Our moderation team cannot see everything, all of the time. Just because you feel that another poster “got away†with something that you didn’t, it doesn’t matter. Sometimes things get missed. That’s the way it is.

#3 – Keep it clean – No racist, sexist or inappropriate posts are allowed onCycloneFanatic.com. We want 10-year olds to be able to view CF. This is obviously a very subjective topic. We admit that. Our moderation team might think something is inappropriate that you as an individual do not.

#4 – We realize that sometimes threads naturally will head off of what the original topic might have been. Please do your best to keep threads on topic though. Constant derailing threads is not allowed. We have a lot of visitors to the site who don’t post. They like to read the opinions of you Fanatics. This makes things much easier on them, from a site navigation standpoint.

#5 – Absolutely no sharing of premium information from other message boards. We respect that those folks are trying to run a business. In no way do we want to interfere in that by leaking their premium information.

#6 – No trolling, spamming, relentlessly promoting your own (or another) blog, etc. A lot of these again are obviously judgment calls that we reserve the right to make.

#7 – No advertising. That’s how this site is funded. That's how we keep it free for you. If you post an advertisement for any sort of a product, it will be deleted immediately. However, we would love to help you grow your business. Shoot an e-mail to [email protected] for more information.

#8 – Do not publically call out our moderation team. What we are doing here is not an exact science. I’m going to use the magic words “judgment call†once again. A lot of times, it comes down to that. If you feel you’ve been wronged in any way, shoot one of our moderators or me a private message. We’ll go from there.

#9 – Do not avoid our language filter. If you do, your post will be deleted.

Final Thoughts

In a dream world, this site would moderate itself. Do you know about the “Report Post†button that is always available to you here on CF?

If you feel that a certain post is inappropriate, click on the red box with an X in it underneath a poster’s profile information. This way, the post is sent, with your reasoning, back to our moderation forum. We will address it at that time.

That’s my goal. That someday, these judgment calls will diminish and you Fanatics will moderate each other primarily.

But please, do not abuse the “Report Post†button for your own personal agenda.

In the end, remember this. This is a fantastic website. Everybody involved with CF is very passionate about its future. Any and all decisions made on an administrative side are done so for the site’s best interest. Will we be wrong sometimes? Of course. Nobody is perfect. If I screw up, I vow to admit to it.

Have an outstanding week and as always, go Cyclones!

Ego. A guy at work is begging his wife to look at vans, but she won't even sit in one because then she's an old mom person, but if she's driving an SUV, somehow she's not. The funniest ones to me are like the Ford Flex...dude, it's a minivan with large wheels and hinged doors, stop pretending it's not.

It's definitely the "soccer mom" thing. Both of my sisters are guilty of this. They are talking about wanting about Chevy suburbans when they get their next vehicle. They've each got three kids now. Just admit that you are no longer "cool" and go buy the van.

My mom is the same way though. She's had a suburban for a while now and they just bought a new one even though it's just her, my dad, and the dog left at home at this point (she occasioanlly schleps around grandkids). I tried to convince her to go smaller, but it's their money.

Unless they are the only game in town (brand, inventory, etc), I wouldn't go back if I could help it. You are the one with the money so you get to make most of the decisions. If you do end up there once you are talking with the salesman and manager inevitably stops by, I'd just be sure to slip that you were completely ignored the first time you were in. See how the manager reacts.

Hell...even if they are the only game in town...it ain't that damn far to somewhere else (unless he's buying a Mini or something, and then, I think there's one in Davenport).

We drove to Davenport for our swagger wagon after our local dealer was a total phucktard. I'm a complete believer that a car dealer does anything to be dumb (within reason, I'm sure there are jackwagon customers too), you walk. It's a business that the price changes depending on who you are walking in. The only way to stop their **** is if the ones that play games and act like phucktards don't sell cars. The ones in IC here can get away with it because there's a steady turnover of short timers (undergrads, grad students, non-tenured professors all of the not car savvy liberal arts persuasion) that they can soak. I did buy a Nissan in town, but that was only because got a good deal because I had the sales guy by the balls for showing me his financial incentives sheet from Nissan and using anti-semitic statements (Quote: You don't walk into Wal-Mart and try and *** them down on the price of a TV, do you?), and got the sales manager hooked on a one-upsmanship game.

I actually have a friend in the business, and while I almost trust him, other than that, I trust no one that sells cars.

in an instant tonight is awful.

Guy in a grain bin. Combining realistic to my life + burying alive. I seriously almost can't watch this

I watched that show last week for the first time. I hadn't heard of it before then. It was pretty interesting but I absolutely hated how often they'd repeat certain events in the interviews and the portrayals. It got old real fast. I don't know if every episode is like that but the two hours could have been cut down to one hour.

There I a reason for that. They cater to people channel surfing so to draw them in (ie "its okay if you didn't see the first part, gentle viewer") they repeat important parts. Watch anything on ID channel or 60 minutes . They all do it.
