I just read a review on your bike. The guy knew what he was talking about and he picked this bike as the best. The shop I'm going to doesn't sell Trek bikes though so I need to find somewhere that does. I really like my Trek mountain bike.

Black Tire Bikes in Marshalltown carries the full line of Treks and the owners are super nice.

By the way, I was thinking of you this morning, Pants.

Spring? My ***!

But 28 and sunny at noon!

DH got a Raleigh bike from Skunk River after his very nice, fairly new (Trek, I believe?) bike was stolen or confiscated by DPS or whoever it was that would cut bikes off racks after students left. We had moved up to Freddy for the summer and he went back the next day to move the bike and the chain was still there, cut. DH was not happy.

Okay this really needs to part of America's internet lexicon. Quote of the day. Actually sounds like she might have been channeling CG?

When asked by espnW’s Allison Glock if she wants to have kids some day, Rousey made no bones about her desire to do so.

“Definitely,â€￾ Rousey replied. “I’m an ovarian goldmine. I can’t waste these genes.â€￾

Some some funny internet comments:

"I was an ovarian coal mine." — Loretta Lynn

"Yossarian gold mine" - for Catch-22 fans

"Bovarian Goldmine." Some German Wisc dairy farmer or just an internet slangist?

"Would be hit by it." - probably Pants posting that one.

"I'll risk it. I want strong babies."

All this bike talk makes me want one of those Treks but I have an old hybrid 1991 Bianchi that is just fine for my mostly city and paved trail biking. Bike is in fine shape and works great. but I still want a new one. Must resist but the consumerism in me is running rampant. Must be spring fever. Want. Cool. New. Bike.

Dooooo iiiittttt. I really don't need one, but I'm gonna do it.

I just got home from test riding and thought I'd check in. At one place, I rode a Trek 7.3 FX. mtown mentioned his 7.2. This is a slight step up from that. I really enjoyed the ride. At Skunk River I tried a couple different bikes. I liked the Cannondale Quick 4, but they don't have the one I'd want to buy in stock, but it's available to order. The bikes are similar in specs, but the Trek is a bit cheaper. I need to find out what add ons would cost for both bikes and then I'll make a decision.

Now with the bike talk.

Well, you'll all be proud to know I got my exercise in this morning...5 minutes of running around the basement playing tag, and 10 minutes of wrestling with the kiddos.

Although, I will give Boxster a fist bump on the Bianchi....

Mine that mostly hangs on the wall in the garage when it's not hooked to the kiddo trailer:

Well, BikesFan5, I have been surfin' since reading the random posts. Would be a newer version of my old bike and much lighter. My old guy is steel framed. My buzz around the lakes fitness rides are in the 15-20 mile category so I don't need a road bike but something lighter would be nice.

I'm really torn. The Quick 4 has a carbon fork which is the best. The Trek is either aluminum (7.3, lighter) or steel (7.2, heavier but smoother). For whatever reason, the Trek is priced WAY above MSRP. I just looked that up. The Quick 4 is priced below its MSRP. I like the shifters a bit more on the Trek, but the color scheme/color design on the Quick 4. I just wish I liked one a lot more than the other to help make a decision.

I have a Gary Fisher that I bought in high school. Used to ride it all the time but it hasn't been out in the last couple of years. Looking forward to getting out on the trails up in Iowa!

Oh a random factoid from the aviation museum. As the U.S. Air Force started retiring B-52's and replacing them with newer B-52's and other bombers they would move them around the ramps and sometimes even fly them to confuse the Russians into thinking we have more than we actually do. To this day Russian satellite's still check up on the fleet including the one at the museum here in Wichita.
