think I'm going to have to go with cherry pie bars. Don't think I have quite enough pretzels and I need to buy more ingredients for the strawberry one than the cherry one. I want to make the pretzel one sometime though. I love that stuff.

Mrs. 00clone was filling out valentine's for youngest's party tomorrow (they have it Wed so everyone is there). She got animal themed ones, I noticed these two...told her to maybe leave those out so as not to create body image issues:

Are you looking in Ames? If so, I could maybe (emphasis on maybe) help with the information I got from the places I inquired on.
We are looking in the Des Moines area and eastern Iowa. What we really want is a rustic barn and we have found some that fit that criteria. However, our main problem is we live in the Twin Cities, and we can't simply just go look at places especially with my weird work schedule.
I won't be much help then. What I can tell you though is my cousin got married in a barn in eastern Iowa that was renovated to hold events such as weddings and parties. It was a really nice venue.
The only thing is...it's basically in Iowa City.

The celebration barn(s)...there's actually 2 separate barns now...aren't renovated barns, they were purpose built by a guy with a lot of money who likes old barns.
I can confirm that it's really nice, and just a short drive from the 00clone family compound. Wife's company had a shindig there, and yeah, it's nice.
There is also an octagonal barn over by West Liberty (not too far from IC) that also does weddings, but that is a legitimate old barn...and it's VERY old-barn-y. I did go to a wedding there, probably didn't help that it was the hottest friggin day of the summer and the reception was upstairs, but we cut out as soon as politely possible and took a crew back to our house to drink in the air conditioning.
Have you seen this one? ISU friends got married there a couple years ago. It was very nice.
