Random thoughts III

I'm an advocate of the Random Thoughts Thread, but if all it is for is to complain about fellow posters or what things shouldn't be posted on which forums...you might as well not have it at all.

Has the Random Thoughts Thread run out of gas?

You are pretty selectively reading if the last few pages told you that's "all it is for".

this morning I saw a coyote running through the parking lot of my wife's work as I dropped her off. Not something you'd expect in the middle of Clive/WDM

how much are you looking to spend/type of fare? I'll be very, very honest, when DH and I find what we like, we don't venture far from that often cause we don't want a lemon!

I've hear that Graze is great from someone who worked at fancy restaurants, but I have not been there myself. Our downtown favorites are Tipsy Cow (lunch or dinner, pub type place with amazeballs cheese curds and burgers). Tornado Room is a great steakhouse that DH likes to go to for his birthday dinner. Del Monico's is another great steakhouse but their seating was pretty crowded the night we went there.

Great Dane is another good pub type place for lunch/dinner. Old Fashioned gets a lot of attention - haven't actually been there yet because they're always busy at dinner but I have tried their cheese curds and thought they were too greasy, so I haven't wanted to eat there, lol.

Paisan's is a cheap Italian place on overlooking one of the lakes - good food though. Ian's Pizza is a good quick lunch place - but if you come up here for school, you'll probably eat there often enough.
Bellini's is another nice Italian place in an old church. More of a romantic feel though while Paisan's is more family atmosphere.

Law school for you? As in another potential Clone fan up in this area?

Since I gave like 8 options, my favorites are Tipsy Cow and Tornado Room. Paisan's for Italian in your situation (with parents in tow).
Thanks for the suggestions, we'll definitely look at eating at one of those places. And yeah, I'm applying to law schools now, and Wisconsin's in the mix, so there may be another cyclone fan up in Madison next year.

And thanks for the suggestion 00. I'm not really into beer, so we might pass, but that is a place we'll keep in mind.

I have enjoyed the time playing at home. Kiddo has been walking laps to and from the kitchen as well as wanting to go up the stairs. Busy busy girl.

Read all 3000 posts and categorize them by topic and report back to us with percentages. Some nice presentation grade charts and graphs would be nice.

Point of note, though: All complaining about BDK and his 'oooh, look at what I'm drinking/smoking' should be excluded from 'complaining about other posters', as that's done to his face and is done as advice on how to be a more mature person.

Anyone else feel like this with bdk?

As a guy who drank stuff like blackberry brandy as a teen I am in no position to past judgement.

cable is making me crazy and I'm not even talking to them yet. Log In. Takes me to their stupid news homepage. Go to "my bill". Takes me to the log in page. Log in. Takes me to their stupid news homepage. And repeat.

I hope every one can get better, and be healthy soon. It seems like there is junk constantly going around.

This. No one can seem to shake it. I still am not right after coming down with it Christmas evening. I just got a call from home that my son apparently got sick in the middle of the night last night. He originally came down with it the evening of the 19th.

I think I am going home. I got the one thing I had to do done here and I don't think I will accomplish much more.

Things seen while running errands in Johnson County:

A Smartcar with Blizzak Snow tires. I mean, if you have a Smartcar, I suppose it makes sense, but it does seem a bit silly.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, two HS looking camo'ed out kids in a rusted to hell but lifted truck, with a sticker on the back window that says "Lift it, fat chicks can't jump" I didn't see them well enough to verify the hawkeye shirts under the camo.

Ahh, never a dull moment over here.

You could have at least waved to me ya jerk.

I was really happy with what I found shopping on Friday. Even though I was reminded how much I hate shopping I did find workout pants that won't cover my feet and a nice new sweater to wear to work.
